W.A Trichlorostyrene should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
MRF Challenge 2012-13

A promising winter championship based in India, with a decent line-up mostly made of international drivers.

Sadly the media coverage is close to zero, and the official website is very uninformative(apparently they don't even have a standings section...), making the series very hard to follow online.

Conor Daly and Jordan King won the two first races, in the F1 supporting round 1. The series return at Buddh this week-end for round 2.

Luciano Bacheta went well in the first round, with 3rd and 2nd in the races. Hopefully he can take a win this weekend and keep the pressure on for the title. Always nice to have some racing in the off-season, though I miss GP2 Asia more.

Good to see some decent drivers going over for a benchmark. I would think King and Daly have the advantage as both have either driven these cars or cars very much like them.

Many thanks for the results!

Do you know how race 2/3/4 grids are decided? Fastest laps of the previous race, I assume?

Any idea where to find the standings too?

Bacheta is on a 4 podiums streak, surely he will take the lead today with those 2 races King are missing!

Race 3 Result

1. Conor Daly
2. Alice Powell
3. Hector Hurst

Bacheta was second but retired.

R1 is fastest Q time. R2 grid is top 6 of R1 reversed. R3 is second fastest qualy time. R4 is top 6 of R3 reversed.

I'm not sure where the standings are, but I'll post them here when I find them out.

Huge crowd for such a small single seater championship. Do they run anything else as support? https://instagr.am/p/SvNL8gDMqD/

Thanks again!

Good run by Alice Powell. Four top 4 in 4 finishes.

Ouch! That's quite complex...

Will Buxton asked Conor Daly on Twitter whether he was leading the championship, and Conor said he had no idea.

Apparently it's an event targeted to a wide public, called SIDVIN Festival of Speed, and backed by Volkswagen.

Accordin to this article, there was 5000+ people on Sunday: http://www.moneycontrol.com/news/whe...12_790149.html

MRF Challenge round 2 report, including the supporting JK Series(French): http://www.leblogauto.com/2012/12/bu...peed-2012.html

Au championnat, le barème étant toujours aussi flou, les organisateurs n’ont pas pris la peine de faire circuler un point sur le championnat.
Basicaly it says that for whatever reason, the officials didn't bother announcing a points system so far. Hence why the standings are impossible to find.

This is just absurd, really. We're at half way point now...

From what I could make out at the weekend, it's the same points scoring as F1. Plus a point for fastest lap and pole. The championship told me that these are the current standings:

1 King, 100; 2 Daly, 95; 3 Powell, 68; 4 Bacheta, 67; 5 Hurst, 55; 6 Jinkawa, 51

You're a life saver, thanks!

OK, looks like a 2 horse race now. Although Bacheta still has some time to make up the ground he lost.

Actually, it's quite amazing that King kept the lead with the 2 races he missed. But to be honest it was also because Daly had plenty of trouble this week-end.

Actually, having seen Conor's grid pic, they aren't using the same cars as last year.

Thanks.

I know he hasn't raced much lately, but surely it's a surprise to see Jon Lancaster so far back, with all his experience? Was he racing last week-end?

He's retired a lot - but even when he's been racing he's been behind King and Daly, and has to fight with Powell and Bacheta.

So, final round last week-end at Madras. Conor Daly won the title with 164 points. King came second with 159, Bacheta third with 102.

Wish I could post a link to full results, but even one day after the final race, they can't be found anywhere.

Here's a small report in the meantime: http://www.paddockscout.com/roundup-...season-titles/

Nope... 5 full days after the final race, they are still not published on the official website. Very disappointing.
