Britek Announces Livery for Fujitsu Racing and IRWIN Racing for 2008

Release from Britek:
(No link available to official release - will delete full release text and provide a link once www.fujitsuracing.com site is updated)

Britek Motorsport, the motor sports operation that campaigns both the Fujitsu Racing and IRWIN Racing teams in the V8 Supercar Championship Series has thrown the covers off an all-new look for 2008.

The Fujitsu Racing Ford will again be driven by Managing Director of Britek Motorsport Jason Bright, while Marcus Marshall climbs aboard the IRWIN Racing Falcon as part of a two-year agreement with the team.

It will be a totally fresh look for the #25 Fujitsu Racing entry, with the primary colours being sky blue and white, along with fluorescent orange markings.

"Fujitsu General is once again happy to be onboard with Jason Bright and Britek Motorsport for 2008," said Philip Perham General Manager Sales and Marketing Fujitsu General.

"With a fresh new livery design for the car and team and with the experiences gained over the past few seasons, we are looking forward to a successful year on the track.

"During 2007 the team showed a lot of promise without tasting any real success. Hopefully with a little luck this promise can be turned into some on-track results in 2008!!"

The IRWIN Racing Falcon is a totally different design, with corporate navy blue paint and fluorescent yellow decals the dominant feature.

"We are delighted with the look of the 08 IRWIN Racing Falcon," said Nick Pritchard Managing Director of Irwin Industrial Tools Australia and New Zealand.

"IRWIN has made a commitment through to the end of 2009 with this program and with the new look and new driver in Marcus Marshall, we are sure to get some great benefits from our V8 Supercar programme.

"Britek Motorsport has been first-class in their approach to the 2008 season and we can't wait to hit the track in Adelaide."

Managing Director of Britek Motorsport Jason Bright was delighted with the fresh new look for 2008.

"Both cars look really good, it's a really good result for of Fujitsu General and IRWIN Industrial Tools," said Bright.

"We have been able to clearly identify our two corporate backers and give them each their own identity.

"The Fujitsu General colour scheme has changed quite a lot since last year and we believe it will look outstanding on the track. One of the big changes has been the removal of the car number from the doors and their reposition in the rear windows. This has allowed us to make full use of the doors as well as the front and rear panels.

"The IRWIN Industrial Tools scheme closely mirrors their entry in NASCAR and we have been able to incorporate the #26 like the US model.

"We have also clearly identified both cars as Ford entries, with blue being the dominant colour."

The unveiling of the colour schemes kicks-off three solid weeks of preparation ahead of the opening race on the streets of Adelaide on February 21-24.

"We have launches, photo and media sessions, plus a very important test at Winton Motor Raceway on Tuesday 12 February," said Bright.

"Our goals for 2008 include running the Fujitsu entry in the top-10 consistently and bringing the IRWIN car into the top half of the field.

"The competition is extremely tough and for us to achieve our goals we will really have to earn it.

"As an organisation Britek Motorsport is prepared to give it everything and I'm sure we can really turn some heads this year."

TSR has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
They will both grow over the year, Brighty's car is the better of the two. The IRWIN car if any is a little to dark. But both are better than the JDR cars. So far out of the cars done HRT to SBR#4 to FUJITSU to IRWIN to JDR.

Marshall's car reminds me of the 2003 (or was it 2004?) Betta Electrical car- The first year of the "splat" livery.

Rather bland, though...

Question.. If Britek are allowed to have the number on the door does that mean that they are breaking the rules? I think it's a bit unfair to have any number on the doors when this number to window seems to be enforced strictly.

and yes I have seen the number on the window too..

EDIT: forgot to add that im not really liking it at all.. much preferred the fluro orange on last years livery..

What rule do you think they are breaking?

They have the number on the window as required - surely they can put whatever else they want on the panels - in fact if they felt like it they could just have 26 on it - ir for that matter leave it blank / empty (along with their bank account due to a lack of a sponsor)

No mention of new chassis, so presumably the plan to build new ones in house has been shelved and the ex FPR chassis rebuilt for their 6th season.

i quite like both, especially the Bright mobile, although i do agree about the front view, when i first looked i thought farout they must of borrowed a couple of left over splitters from 888.

Like the Fujitsu car way better than last years.

The Irwin car is certainly better than the 07 Gurr Version, but It still needs more imagination put into it.

Brights looks the goods - I like it a lot.

One would have thought you'd put a nice new set of nuts on the wheels for the launch photos.... only a small detail. But never the less a detail.

Both cars look good, but need a wheel update, those old ones date the look of the cars.

Don’t mind Brights but don’t like Marshalls or it's NASCAR equitant.

BTW where did Fisher & Paykel come from. Don’t think we had a heads up anywhere on that one

Phase3 - your old fashioned. Sorry you did tell us to call you that. I like the numbers on the windows, leaves more room the the other graphics

Jason's new car they hope to debut @ the AGP, while they have just
taken delivery of the ex Richo FPR chassis, which Marshall will use
for the season.

So last years Car# 26 chassis didn't sell? - so are they planning to using the old one at Clipsal - any idea on when they will move to the ex Richo one?

The old 26 Chassis is still 4 sale.
Pretty sure the "newer" 26 chassis will be ready
for Clipsal though. Just needs an engine, diff etc etc etc.

Irwin want their car to look similar to the NASCAR,
hence the number 26 still on the door.

Fujitsu have no link to numbers, so why take up
potential sponsorship space with a number??

It would be something to do with standard Irwin imaging and making it look similar to the NASCAR

The two best of the year, Irwin just shading Fujitsu. Definitely better than it's Nascar sister
