What would actually make you stop watching?

I sold my telly and never watched another race because of the diffuser saga.
It has been great. I go outside on Sunday afternoons and generally enjoy life.

What would make you actually never watch a race? Are you one more team order away from giving up?

I am an addict, so I don't know what would finally stop me watching.
It is however a frustrating and unrewarding addiction, that does not seem to be drawing few new converts - surprise surprise!

I just wish they'd fix aero elephant and let the cars race and the drivers show their skills, oh yes, and bring back testing.

There is so much hype and ..... that the sport very nearly doesn't exist anymore.

So you would still watch if there was a 'standard' engine?

I think I would only stop watching if for some reason the races were decided on pure merit rather than people pratting about with the rules.

Ford Cosworth DFV 3.0 V8 that is all i will say. bring that engine back please would love to hear that scream in anger. unfortunatly being born in the 80's i missed that engine.

The sad part is that we have never before seen the resources they currently have in F1, and yet we have no real wheel to wheel racing just spin and spin and .....

If racing was put back on the agenda it could be so good!

If you want to watch real wheel to wheel racing, and excitement thrown in, Moto is your answer. That's where they let it all hang out flat out.

I enjoyed Canada, didn't miss not seeing Valencia, loved Silverstone but didn't bother too much about Hockenheim.
Will I watch Hungary? Maybe. It has great memories of earlier action in the late 1980's (Senna, Mansell, Boutsen et al).

I enjoyed the DFV era so a standard engine will not turn me off, because F1 is a drivers championship, not a constructor or teams championship.
Allowing team orders of the kind Coulthard, Barrichello and Massa have had to endure would probably would remove all vestige of a sense of competition and at that point...what is the point?

I stopped watching sort of for parts of 2008 and 2009. The dying embers of the Mosley era were totally disenchanting.

I watch all the the time.
Moto GP2 is also a great category - spec engine funnily enough - amazing racing!

What F1 could be if they binned the wings!

I don't know, really. I stopped watching seriously between about 1998-2003 but it wasn't for any reason, I just got interested in other things.

I you want to watch good racing, wind back about 20 years. The 1990 race had passes and overtaking! BBC red button is your friend.

If the remaining decent tracks disapeared in favour of Tilke tracks. That would finally finish it off for me. I'm not against new tracks but the ones they've built for F1 are just awful, so until they can manage to build a good one I'd rather they stuck with the old.

Watched the Top Gear thing on Senna last week, it'll really brought it home how far back F1 has gone in terms of the on track action. That was the last great era of raw motor sport as regards F1.

What has changed, lots of things. Safety has gone too far, Tilke tracks, Bernie's over commercialisation and money grabbing, aero, manufacture politics and spending. Get rid of or put the above in perspective and you might start getting somewhere.

It strikes me that with F1's gradual drift towards the far/middle east and the above mentioned that there is gap emerging in the market for a series to nab some of F1's fans and venues in Europe. Not necessarily single seaters but I think the chance is there for somebody, particularly if they could get the right TV deals. Just a thought, beware alienating your core audience in Europe Bernie!

Each time FOM/FIA/WMSC do something to prove their stupidity my interest gets slightly less.

I'm feeling a lot less enthusiastic this year. Got really hyped up for the start of the season but since then, it's just not been very captivating, bar the odd big incident or two. In the past, you could at least bank on a Mosley witchhunt or some silly season rumours to keep me interested even if the on-track stuff was rubbish - that's why last year was so enjoyable. But there's a total lack of news outside the race weekends this year, and it's just not that interesting anymore. Once again, Jean Todt is ruining F1 for me with his ruthless, boring efficiency

Added to this, the races haven't been very good in general this year. We haven't had a particularly memorable race. Even the best races of the year, Australia and Canada, weren't that special

Watch very occasionally, and as often as not wish I hadn't bothered, and I sometimes watch the highlights usually when there's been an interesting incident discussed on here. I find the politics and rule bending infuriating, the lack of sportsmanship appalling and the malign influence F1 has on the rest of the sport sometimes makes me angry.

I hate the way F1 chases money and power around the globe at the expense of the fans who want to go to a grand prix and marshals who know what they're doing and I frankly despise Bernie and his posturing. If F1 went away tomorrow I honestly wouldn't miss it.

I've got a sense of excitement I can feel in my heart even know and that's just before the qually programme begins!

Come the warm-up lap of the race, for me the atmosphere is palpable and it is one of the best things.

I love F1 (even though it sometimes infuriates me).

Ooh, just heard there could be wet weather. More excitement.

I have no clue. I guess if Fernando turns into Schumacher part deux, but then I'd still watch to see him get beat.
