World Rallycross R8 - Loheac, France
Yeah I know its a bit early, but I just spotted a bit of Loheac news on Facebook and I can't wait for this, so I've started a thread!
Retro Rallycross will be present in France... Quote:

Quote: "This will be a big one, the Loheac organisers expect somewhere in the region of 30,000 spectators."
Didn't they have "officially" 72,000 spectators last year? And this year they have a World Championship round... |

So great to see David get another chance in the big leagues. He didn't get the breaks he deserved in the GRC. if the format had been different i think he would have been on the podium at each event.
That day at Lydden with David and Marcus is still one of the highlights of my rallycross life. Hope he does the job and gets a full-time ride in 2015. Go for it Mr. Binks Mark |

Has anyone seen a timetable for the event yet.
Plus last year Rallytravel had a trip to a Loheac listed, not sure if they went ahead with it, as it disappeared from the website before the 2013 event. I can't see anything listed for 2014. Does anybody know if there are any coach trips to this years event? |

Can't believe there haven't been any posts in this thread over the weekend!
Absolutely brilliant weekend of rallycross. Pity that there wasn't a competitive Brit in the final, but fair play to Andy Scott for running consistently and making the Semi's. Pleased to see Block on the pace, no doubt his car is one of - if not the - most developed in the paddock, but you still need some skill to get it round the track (though perhaps a kick up the arse needed for his spotter for not reminding him to joker in the first heat!). Good weekend for the Hansen cars and some very tidy driving from Timmy. Did wonder if Petter was sandbagging a bit in the early heats in order to preserve his tyres and avoid a repeat of last years final. Unlucky weekend for both the Monster cars. Henning was flying prior to his failure and Jeanney would surely have made the Semis were it not for his heat 1 exclusion. |

Lol oh dear, adn it would have probably casued the tv folk headaches to get it all in.
Track looked pretty bad, just dust covered concrete really, Joker was fine but why the need for the jump? On telly was fascinated by the need in the 1600 final to show us Peugeot Hansen prepping the cars for the Final, while the 1600 race was on and getting good. Who buttered whose bread there then eh? |

Great shots, keep 'em coming!
I was keeping up to date over the weekend courtesy of my Petter Solberg App on my smartphone and read a report of the weekend online too, but there's nothing like seeing the action shots if you can't be there yourself!! Thanks again, Steve |

Brilliant! More excellent shots, thanks for posting.
Between them, the photos so far answer an earlier question in this thread - was Petter Solberg sandbagging and saving his tyres? Well, clearly he was. He was saving his tyres by only using two of them to go around corners! Cheers, Steve |

Great shot! It wasn't the fastest spot on the circuit, but it was cool to watch the Supercars powering round the last bend.

Petter has one mission since he won at least one event : being the first world champion ever and i guess he learnt fom 2013 he doesnt need to be fastest in every heat and when it is final-time , he is there :-)

I'm no expert but, looking at the colour, the 3D dept, the out of focus parts etc, I'm willing to take a bet that it's a Canon 60D with EF-S 55-250 mm at 96mm f/13 1/200 sec at ISO100. For the solberg picture that is.
In the Flickr albums when you click on a picture, the 'EXIF' info will be shown if it's not blocked or deleted. https://www.flickr.com/photos/229616...57647463246441 Scroll a bit down to see the info. Click 'show EXIF' for even more camera/picture nerdiness. |
