Despite the total, complete, utter and shambolic lack of snow in these parts of the world at this time of year, happy winter holidays to everyone. To the whole Le Mans crew, enjoy the 2016 race, I'll try to be there at least in spirit. And will send you all a nice G'day from Bathurst in February.

Dammit, you beat me to the non-denominational season's greetings. I guess I will have to suck it up and wish everyone a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year after all

For all the ups and downs of the 2015 season, I hope everyone reading this has a better year in 2016, both on and off the track.

Back at home (you know home home with family) in Lapland for the week, yesterday -26 celcius and beautiful winter moonlight brightening the snow. But today only -5 and cloudy skies with wind. Should be at zero tomorrow and blizzard in saturday. Beats the bare ground and miserable rain we have south in Häme

Christmas Eve is the real Christmas here. Christmas Day is just epilogue and Boxing Day second epilogue

Anyway merry christmas and happy holidays. And bah humbug to those not so merry

Pretty envious you're getting proper wintery weather - much more exiting than the run of the mill 'damp' we've got in the UK...

Rest assured Christmas Eve is merry here (helped along by a bottle of Domaine Mosse Tenderness we picked up at the vineyard in June - occupying ourselves during the wet Friday) and I'm sure we shall continue in the same spirit tomorrow.

Trust everyone else is having a suitably festive time.

Let's have our tradition cycle no-ones interested in hearing. Maybe half are real Finnish traditions and rest made up by the family and may sound weird but whatever.

"Prior"
- The necessary and not so necessary preparations and cookings (I'm mostly absent here as my visits don't come up too early)
- Decorating the christmas tree (real, and usually untraditional pine, however sometimes spruce)

Eve's eve
- Visiting relatives (in another town)
- Bringing some candles to family graves in cemetery (in another town)
- Prepare the Christmas ham so that it's ready by evening

Eve
- Rice pudding (porridge) breakfast
- Watching some morning christmas cartoons and whatever on TV, plus the announcement of "Christmas Peace" (or whatever you want to call it) from Turku at noon
- Visiting relatives (our town)
- Bringing some candles to family graves in cemetery (our town)
- Fully lighten up our on yard/property with lanterns + plastic lanters made to look like ice lanterns (used to make real ones as kid but they are kinda too much hazzle and need right temperatures) - usually at this stage darkness approaches, you know past 2PM
- General prepping and fooling around + watching some films
- Sauna (yes in afternoon)
- Christmas Dinner Proper
- Opening presents (fake santa used to personally bring when kiddies around, now they're just under the tree)
- Walk outside to admire the sights of night. If luck full moon for enhanced effect, or Aurora borealis

Day
- Christmas Dinner the Sequel (Non Christmasy Dishes but still special)

Boxing
??? Guess there's something ???

I quite enjoyed hearing about your traditions.

Happy holidays and Merry Christmas everyone. We may argue from time to time, but we are all passionate about our racing. Be safe and enjoy.

Merry Christmas everyone! As my families tradition is to open presents the night before, I'm eating breakfast while watching the WEC season highlights program that was recorded earlier in the week

Hope all are having a peaceful and pleasant time. Santa brought me the 1920s volume of the Quentin Spurring history of Le Mans. I feel a few hours in a comfy chair being required. From an initial quick flick through it the photos look fantastic.

Merry Christmas to all.
I have enjoyed Christmas dinner outside by the water in 85 degree heat in south west Florida.

Glad not to be in the uk but am rather envious of Chiana in Lapland.
Cheers

Why does it always have to ne cloudy on this very night? The city fireworks will look more like air raid.

Oh well. Happy new year.

Wishing great LM anticipation for all. Only little over month for that sacred February date too.

Uncorked this earlier to have with some glorious beef ribs. Think it's fitting to raise a toast to all my Le Mans related friends, especially seeing as it's a wine from Anjou.
