PT needs our help!
SPEED is taking votes for "Driver of the Quarter" which will eventually lead to "Driver of the Year"
Take a second and give PT a hand. http://www.speedtv.com/features/36/ |

apart from CART/IRL rivalry, don't see why should it be so tragic if Kanaan beats PT: Tony's skill is undiscutable

It sure wasn't when he was in CART! The playing field's _still_ lower in the Crapwagon series, I guess!

A good number of IRL drivers were in CART up until yesterday, they cannot have become snails in such a shorter time!
Moreover they were among the best of CART, so I guess that CART is lower, now, as it is shown by the fact that a semi-winner like PT has become unbeatable, once Da Matta, Kanaan,Dixon,Andretti,Franchitti, Brack, DE Ferran, Castroneves have slipped away. |

Kanaan is only good on ovals. On road-racing he's so-so at best. Plus Andertti/Green is one of the best funded and prepared teams, whereas the Mo Nunn CART operation wasn't. CART has more of the 2002 CART frontrunners than the IRL, and has spec equipment so you can't just win through having a Japanese engine. Sam hornish Jr is still the best open-wheel oval racer going, I've seen nothing to make me change my mind this year.
My vote goes to Matt Kenseth, who is now blossoming into the sueprstar he always threatened to be. It seems unfair to have the poll so early, considering that there've only been 2 CART and 2 IRL races, yet nearly 1/4 of the NASCAR schedule. Last edited by BootsOntheSide; 1 Apr 2003 at 13:59. |

PT has always been a fast guy. His record doesn't show it. A good part of it was due to his inconsistancy. Team Green often had sporatic sucess. Dario had the same problems as PT (ignoring '99).
As for Kannan, as a CART defector I don't think any of us want him to win over Tracy. In all fairness, PT is faster than Kannan, peroid. |
