spectator22 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
As they say, its $1 a week. Ive enjoyed Motorpsort News for years and Ive been a fan since they started eNews and Ive wondered how it paid for itself. With that other rag at the newsagents at $6 a week, eNews is still amazing value, and Ill be getting it for sure. Isee that its still free if your a subscriber to the printed magazine, which is a reallyu good idea. No doubt therell be some whingers though ... keep up the good work guys.

I don't see a problem with paying for E mnews, and I have never had a real problem downloading it, can be slow every now and again, but for around a $1 a week, I am sure westpac can find it in their hearts to extend me a lifeline or two on the old overdraft. I am in.

Just Subscribe to the magazine and you get it free and the mag works out to be not that much more than the online full year option

I'm one who won't be subscribing. I just don't enjoy reading stuff which I've been loosing interest in for awhile on the 'puter screen. Usually takes me from 2-5mins to 'read' both eNews and GPWeek. I subscribed to the original mag for years but when they went eNews left that lapse. I'm afraid I like holding onto the mag to read but don't have the interest level needed to want to subscribe to the monthly mag even if the eNews bit is included.

I might just subscribe to the magazine and get the online mag as a bonus. I too only read enews for 5mins approx and usually only once or twice so there's no massive attachment to the online mag. Although I must say it is a good read and $55 isnt that much in the scheme of things. I'll think it over.

Sadly the business model of a free weekly magazine and a monthly magazine sold in newsagents has apparently failed.

Prior to E-News I had purchased every issue of Motorsport News. Since the introduction of E-News I have not purchased a single issue.

I always would buy Motorsport News in them morning on the way to work and read it from cover to cover. I could read it during my lunch break, or at the races on the weekend or anywhere I needed a fix. With eNews I can't do that.

The monthly magazine confuses me. Is is meant to be a record of our sport (eg Racing Car News) or a monthly feature magazine like Motor Racing Australia? A confused customer is unlikely to buy.

Sure Motorsport News suffers the same problems as most Aussie motoring magazines over the year. The industry is so small, specialised and intimate that the editors dare not criticize the hands that feed them.

But generally the reporting has been excellent and has always been superior to the competition.

I enjoyed going along for the ride, but I am afraid it is now time that I said goodbye.

Yeah same here. I like AutoAction day. I normally brown bag it to work every day but on Auto Action day I like to go somewhere, get a meal and have a read. Helps break up the work week.

And to tell the truth I don't see one single iota of difference in the quality of articles between the two of them.

Thank you "mildura1963" But the big news is that there will soon be a major new In Pit Lane website. We've had the man in to do all the geeky coding stuff and when we return on air in Sept we'll have a major new motorsport and high performance motoring news site which unlike the once a week special from eNews will post the latest news as we get it, not as we feel like it. (Sorry for the plug but this thing's costing me a shipload)
As for eNews I know that many advertisers were less than impressed with the whole online thing as many of the businesses are run by old men who still think the mobile phone is white mans magic. C31 picked up a few of them for our High Octane night on Tuesdays inc. In Pit Lane.
FWIW on the eNews front I think that depending on how much they charge anything around $50 bucks a year is still pretty good value and I'll probably subscribe. Although for me it's Tax deductible

In its fortnightly magazine format Motorsport News was the best Australian motor sport publication ever outside of the 3 golden ages of Racing Car News (Stahl,Fogarty and early Chevron).Since it changed into the new format it has completely lost its way.The monthly magazine is far inferior in every respect, particularly production quality ,to Motor Racing Australia.Enews is more like a collection of press releases than a readable magazine and the reports on the previous weekends racing has such negligible detail you are better off trying to join the dots from Natsoft results.I would have always thought that the best publication would be an Australian "clone" of Autosport published on a fortnightly basis. It has also been disappointing to see Motorsport News increasingly take the company line on V8 Supercars and people who criticise Auto Action for this should compare the last 12 months and see who is best/worst.Although it was a great ride for all but the last 12 months I'm afraid its bye bye Motorsport News.

I agree with the thoughts being expressed.

I would much rather see enews shutdown and have them return focus to the magazine.

Like others i stopped purchasing the magazine when the online version came out but have dissapointed with that as its just basic press stories rather then the in depth stories in the magazine.

I wont be subscribing to enews which starts in 10 days.

My hopes are that it will return soley to the magazine format as it was the best general motorsport magazine in Australia.

I think eNews is an awesome publication...

If you take it for what it is (a quick catch up) as opposed to an in-depth review then I think you get more out of it. Being time poor I can in 1 hour get the latest and then research anything further from there.

(and the delivery method is genius...)

For me it's filled with a lot of up to date information I would not have otherwise. Getting Auto Action is too expensive(for airmail shipping) and I get MRA but it's obviously a more features based magazine. Also a lot of websites give decent coverage of V8's but with enews I can find out what is happening in other categories.

Same old, same old.

Judging by the fact you chose not to subscribe, I'd say you'd think it's not worth the dollar.

Interestingly, the "VESA to divest from CAMS" groundswell, continues.
This week the Dirty, Dangerous Dude, is commenting that there needs to be more freedom to crash & bash "just like NASCAR"

If you want to know more, make the investment.......

Wasn’t so much interested in the content, but more the quality.

In the last few months I’ve gone from spending some time reading it to flicking through it in a matter of minutes.

Haven’t subscribed because I forgot all about it, and all financial transactions must now be run past the 'minister for finance and entertainment' after one too many unauthorised purchases.

I'm still not sure though. I know it’s only a $1, but I'm not going to pay for something if I don't get any value out of it.
