Gilles lives! should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Kart Grand Prix Cadwell Park

The British Kart GP is back this weekend 23rd - 24th at Cadwell Park.

http://www.superkart.org.uk/content/...sh_kart_gp.htm

Is there anybody here either racing or attending?

I will be travelling up from Kent on Friday night hopefully to meet up with some old gearbox kart buddies. Wouldn't miss the chance to see these guys becoming airbourne over the mountain

Just a slight technical point, the dates are 22nd. & 23rd. July.
Please have a look at the Marshals forum where I have requested a plea for more Marshals. All grades of Marshals required for a spectacular weekend of Kart racing at its best.

Thanks for the correction John

Cadwell always used to suffer with a lack of marshalls at Kart events back when I raced there (late 80's early 90's), we was often asked if we had any bodies willing to help out.

Hi Andy sorry for not seeing your post first, I haven't been around here for a while. Have you any idea on entry figures for the GP, it would be nice to see full grids?

A big thank you to all the drivers who put on some great close racing, and for smiling when 'we' collected the bits.

I was surprised at how many karts were coming in on the back of the flat bed trucks, certainly the 12 and 14 lap finals took their toll.

We felt sorry for the guys in the 125 ICC race who believed that there was a false start when they crossed the startline to red lights, they spent 2 laps touring around watching the others disappear before realising there wasn't to be an actual restart!

We enjoyed some great racing during the weekend however, hopefully the event will be back next year.

I will be attending at for the Kart GP. I am a marshal but am also the treasurer for The British Superkart Association. I will be "in charge" of the dummy grid for both days as I was last year. Last years event was talked about long after the weekend and enjoyed by all. I would like to stress John Watsons request for help. It really would be appreciated. If you do attend, please come and say hello. I will be this mad woman in the collecting area, charging up and down the hill!

whereabouts in kent are you traveling from? I shall be going up from Folkestone to photograph event together with brother who is at Milton Keynes. Last time we went together, but his car broke down so we didn't get pics of 2007, but our 2006 pics are on website. This year might go direct or via MK, nothing certain as yet. John R.

Kart GP Cadwell

reply to Gilles lives, posted message last night but would not have made much sense as did not give name of intended recipient. I also live in Kent, will probably be travelling up from Folkestone to photograph event., but arrangements not finalised yet. Photgraphed 2006 GP with my brother and posted pics on http://kartgp.blogspot.com/ but did not manage to photo 2007 as car broke down, hope we do better this year. Be nice to meet some more kindred spirits from this part of the world. Really looking forward to the great racing that this event guarantees, F1 kiss my bottom, john r.

Hi all only just noticed that this thread has been bumped back up

I went last year, endured the storm on Friday night and the floods on the way up ! Luckily Sunday was bright and sunny, let's hope for more of that this year.

I'll be going up on Saturday morning, early from Chatham in Kent. I have a friend who is running a couple of guys in the 125 open class, but apart from that will be pretty free all weekend, especially at the party on Saturday night waiting for Elvis to appear again !

I'll come and say hello Jane at sometime, good luck S.Moss and hopefully see you john.r out and about with your camera

There's some good info on the GP here at this address, including entries etc. Bumper grids this year
