Has any of you been to Cadwell Park? I think with a bit of widening, it could be a new touring car circiut. Anyone whos been there must agree that it's certainly interesting to watch races there (light cars go airbourne over the mountain......)

I think the full Cadwell circuit is fantastic-the Superbike races around there are briliant-but the circuit is even less wide thean Oulton! And we know how strobgly some drivers feel about Oulton!

Cadwell Park with BTCC.. interesting thought. I was there the last time Tuscans raced there, one of them reached the crowd. And last year we had a Renualt 5 upside down in the spectator area past the Gooseneck.

Safe as houses.

A bit of widening, perhaps - but just a little.

The Mountain at Cadwell is awesome, watching British Superbikes there last year on TV was some of the best racing I have ever seen. I've got a wonderful pic of Walker with massive air over the hump as my background on my computer. Plater got so much air that his chain came off on landing.

It would be awesome, but I unfortunately cannot see it happening.

On 7th May, the CSCC (Classic Saloon Car Club) will have their annual trip to Cadwell Park. If you have time off from work, then I suggest going to see them. I'm going because my father used to race in the now defunct pre-65 championship and I might race in the championship in the future. Watch out grids in 2003/4, here I come!!!!!!!!!!

.......Back to Cadwell, last time I went (16th April 2000) a clubman car tried to eat the in field at Mansfield after missing his braking point, and a MK3 Jaguar took a chunk out of Barn corner.
By the way Dan, how did a Tuscan reach the spectators?
And the Renault?
Cadwell has good safety!?!?!?

Cadwell is a fantastic circuit! I went there in 1998 to watch the last round of the Super coupe cup, had a brilliant day out, an interesting and varied circuit, if ever they could get the BTC there the place would be pcked out with fans.

It's not just Renault 5's that can clear the barriers at Cadwell. Group 1 Touring Ford Capris can do it too.

No one mention Cadwell to Peter Mallett, eh...?

Good circuit though.

Speaking of Mr Mallett and Cadwell Park, I saw him do a rotation at the bottom of the mountain.......
Peter, what went wrong with the Capri?
Surely it's not your fault, a good driver like you?

A big start line accident caused a Tuscan way off the circuit.. not really enough room for them!! Think everyone saw sense afterwards - too many and too big!

A couple of years back, I saw an MG Maestro (!) have a major accident when finishing a race; it ended up on its roof!

I used to go to Cadwell park lots when I was younger but I don't think it hosts a decent range of events a year so i think that the BMRC should develop Cadwell to make it eligale to host touring cars and Gt races as well as the British SBK as I find it hard to travel to other circuits and Cadwell is only a few miles away from my home.
