The Allegro for starters. I do like the idea proposed above to extend our borders to France. That means we could deport any unwanted aliens. And the French.

I'm wondering when someone is going to make a claim on the Government related to the use of Pressgangs to induct all and sundry into the Health and Safety hell that was the Royal Navy just a couple of centuries ago. Then we can get onto Child Protection in the same era.
Must be a drink in it for someone soon. Especially if anyone from the Government dares to apologise. Meanwhile it seems only fair that anyone and their ancestors forced for one reason or another to be transported far from their homeland should be offered the opportunity to return to it. Would such a thing bankrupt the USA? |

In the Roman form of chariot racing, teams represented different groups of financial backers and sometimes competed for the services of particularly skilled drivers. These teams became the focus of intense support among spectators, and occasional disturbances broke out between followers of different factions. The conflicts sometimes became politicized, as the sport began to transcend the races themselves and started to affect society overall. This helps explain why Roman and later Byzantine emperors took control of the teams and appointed many officials to oversee them.
There is little new under the sun it seems. I suppose Bernie was involved even then from the sound of it. |

I need a new race battery, I've been using a Varley Red Top 15 and after that died another make of battery the same size, this was old when I got it and this too seems to be on It's last legs and won't hold much of a charge for long as I found out at the weekend.
Did I read somewhere about a few people having troubles with gel batteries melting and has anyone got any recomendations? The Red top would spin the Jag engine over easily and for quite a while so I'm contemplating sticking the same back on or maybe the next size up to be safe. |

Tim, I've finished up going back to Varley as they are still in business and still making batteries same size as older ones. I started changing to an imported make that were just as good but different dimensions. When whoever was importing them stopped I was left with looking for another battery same size, and there wasn't one.....

Didn't they do a 'superlight' version though? The 2CV Superleggera I think.

They pack quite a punch and go big badda boom when they short out, this is the result from a small one getting squished.

That one shook the lorry and I could feel it through my chest when it went off.
