Imo, Force India would be best to keep him. Unless he has a seat somewhere better in F1, I think the Force is his path (sorry for the star wars pun) Maybe Button stays and Magnussen joins?

Force India have just conformed that Hulkenburg will stay with them for 2015, so I guess that knocks that rumor on the head. One down. Two to go.

Is this the article?http://www.motorsport-total.com/f1/n...-14102004.html
From the bad translation it looks like nothing will come from this rumor. |

That article only states that he won't be making the switch to the WEC, which a guest-start at Le Mans dosen't really qualify as.
That article is also from the F1 section where they often really don't care much about non-F1 series or show particular good knowledge about them. The writer may very well not be aware that Le Mans & WEC aren't necessarily the same thing. The article I was talking about is this one: http://www.motorsport-total.com/wec/...-14102005.html Roman Wittemeier is usually well-informed and he states it's their own sources that confirm that "Hülkenberg has gotten permission from his past & current employer Force India to make a guest-start at Le Mans". |

That could be interesting five weeks for Nico, first the Monaco GP, then Le Mans Test Day, then Canadian GP, then immediately after the entire Le Mans week, and right back to Austrian GP
Would be positive for sure to have active driver again few years after Bourdais Last edited by Deleted; 21 Oct 2014 at 16:43. |

Certainly helps guest starts that it is now confirmed that in future 24 and GP won't clash thanks to the WMSC decision year or two ago.

Pilet, Tandy and Lietz all tested the car. That's five of the GT guys now that have been in the car.
http://www.endurance-info.com/fr/pil...orland-aragon/ Surely fuelling the fire for a third car at LM next year. |

Although with double points for LM it could have significant implications for the GTE title chase.

Testing all these guys but rumors persist of Alonso, Button and Hulkenberg... some reason I dont buy the latter of those guys racing next year with Porsche. Big names wont win races.

Big names won't win races (unless they do ) but they do make all the headlines and increase the brand TV time exposure by trillion.

Dont think Porsche is hunting for exposure. Signing all these guys costs money, which could better be used for making a better car. I dont see Alonso or Button honestly. And its looking even less likely for Hulkenberg. But we'll see!

I don't think they have to pay that much for Button if he is out of F1. In theory less than they pay Webber, since Webber left on his own terms and he had to be lured to do that.

Jenson has a wdc title, Webber doesnt. I dont think their pay would be much different, but Jenson could throw that tidbit out there

Not sure why WDC means much in this case... if he has no F1 seat and is not going to pick up a bottom team seat, then what other options he has = Porsche has the upper hand.

Button won a drivers title, his stock should be higher than Webber who placed 3rd in the best car for 3 or 4 straight years. My point is Button should be more secure in his placement in F1. If hes out of F1 he can say his credentials deserve high(er) pay. If Alonso goes to McLaren, I think theyll demote Magnussen before Button. But who knows for certain.

Always amusing (in a pull your own hair kind of way) to see the difference between HR and engineering.
The engineer who's putting in a fuel tank twice into the car would lose their job. The HR person to whom english is so important they keep repeating it probably will get a bonus nonetheless. If you wanted to demonstrate a culture of quality control, dear Porsche, that was a failure. |
