PRS RH01 has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Classic Formula Ford and Pre 90 Dates 2012

Here are the dates as you can see we have 1 round per month and looking at other championships we have managed no to clash to often so join us for one round or the entire championship . The 6 pre90 rounds are a series and we have made sure you would be able to run in the Semsec open races as well and the Combe Formula Free races with little or no disruption . Looking at James Becketts MSVR and euro rounds you can do most of those as well . Im hoping to do some of the BRSCC North West rounds so at this rate i will need to win the lottery but at least you have a choice . Dates are provisional as is always the case but we hope not to have too many changes.

24/3/12 Oulton Full x1

7-8/4/12 Snetterton x2 + Pre90

12-13/5/12 Brands x1 + Pre90

10/6/12 Silverstone x1 + Pre90

21-22/7/12 Croft x2

12/8/12 Mallory x1 + Pre90

1-2/9/12 Rockingham x1 + Pre90

7/10/12 Combe x1 + Pre90

All our races are Qual15 min Race 20 min

If your racing in another championship you are welcome to come play with us but our main aim of the Pre90 is to get cars out of the garage and dust them off . There are plenty of cars around Brands and Combe , with Non clashing dates at Combe and with Semsec at Lydden and Brands there has not been as good an excuse for a long time.

Enjoy your racing and remember racing should be fun . Dont follow the brain dead driving standards of Formula One we have to go to work on a Monday morning.

The provisional BRSCC dates were released yesterday. Matt has circulated them to his full email list last night.

A quick glance shows only two Classic clashes with Northern rounds and one with National.

few clashes

Hi Diz I know isnt it brilliant and only a couple of clashes with James so it looks like we can all have a busy season !
I have our Oulton round at the start of the year so my guys will be gagging for more and im already pushing for a group to do at least one North West round plus the Moose at the end of the season .

One thing i could do with is people letting me know if they are interested in any of the championships . If your thinking of dragging the dust cover of a car let us know . Formula Ford is growing again and all factions appear to be working together.

Only pre 90 round that clashes with the HFF2000 is Silverstone; so looks good to me :-)

Fantastic News

Working closely with the BARC and with the interest in both the pre82 and pre90 races the BARC have improved the dates.

7-8 April Snetterton x2 + Pre90

12-13 May Brands x1 + Pre90

10 June Silverstone x1 + Pre90

14 July Oulton Park x1 + Pre90

18-19 Aug Donington x1 + Pre90

1-2 Sept Rockingham x2

7 October Castle Combe x1 + Pre90

And North West Dates via Matt

31 March Oulton Park x2

21 April Oulton Park x1

12-13 May Anglesey x3

2 June Oulton Park x1

30-1 June Donington x2

18 Aug Oulton Park x1

1 Sept Oulton Park x2

29-30 Sept Anglesey DQ

So only one clash on the 1 September and the Classic Pre90 and race 2 of our Traditional Pre82 will be on the Sunday so if anyone wants a full weekend Oulton on Saturday and Donington on the Sunday .

Hope its all right Matt Diz Putting your dates Up . as always at this time of years dates can still change but lets hope not.

This is a great callender!

The only meeting held at Oulton fits nicely in a gap in their Pre 90 Championship, perfect for anyone in the North West looking for an extra race but still on a level playing field and potentially against some extra Pre 90 competition!

With rounds at Brands, Silverstone, Donnington, Rockingham and Combe there are plenty for drivers based in south to get their teeth into. There are plenty of cars hid away in garages down here - common guys and girls, lets bring them out to play

As Peter quite rightly mentioned there is a growing interest in FF1600 again, particularly in 80's chassis - which have been caught in the wilderness down south for the past few seasons. For this momentum to continue these cars need to be out racing and enjoyed!

from the northern point of view...

seems a shame to take the double at croft off, and end the season with combe, and a return to rockingham??, but there doesn't seem to be any clashes with the historic calendar

Yes I love Croft as well . In 2012 the main aim is to have as much of the championship at the same meetings as the FF2000 and to help develop the Pre90 Series . With this in mind and working closely with the BARC, we came up with the championship at 7 meetings 6 with FF2000 and Pre90 .we also had to make sure we didnt clash with HSCC or North West . I am already talking to The BARC re 2013 and Croft ,Pembrey and Thruxton are all in the frame .

I could do with more people commenting on what we have for 2012 and beyond .
I have had some very interesting Pm re Pre90 and its looking good we already have 36 cars for the Classic Formula Ford championship and over half have said they are doing all rounds .Dont forget if you do all the rounds you get one free .

I've been sitting on the grass banks of club circuit racing since i was a youngster, (hell the 70's were along time ago) and this year took my children along to a meeting early in the year and then found i was pestered to take them again and again. They keep an eye on whats going on in formula ford via this site as it seems to be the only up to date place to find information.

I raced myself many years ago and this calendar for 2012 makes me think that i really should dust down my stuff and have a go next year ! Great programme as it looks perfectly placed for both the north and south guys. This year was great viewing as there always seemed to be a car in traditional period colours although it would have been great if they had all turned up together, it would have been great to see them on the track at the same time. Hope to see you all in 2012 and hope its on the track rather than through the fence. Merry christmas everyone !

The "cars" you talk of were actually a single car "dressed" in new livery for the various races, which is why you didn't get to see them racing on the track at the same time. Hope to see out on the track rather than as a spectator although your always welcome in the paddock. Come and find us for a cuppa and a chat. If your looking for a novice outlook on this race club or need some help to get your car ready just drop me a pm.

The races dates look very good from my end of the grid, some great named circuits (that we have been at this year) and new ones that seasoned guys never stop talking about. I can't wait !!

Is it my poor maths or are we looking at nine rounds ? Can you check it out as want to fill in the diary ! (Happy Christmas everyone)

Dates

Thanks for proving my o level maths is a fake !

We have a double header at Donington, the second race and the pre 90 on the Sunday so the north west boys can play after there Saturday meeting.

At all bar Combe the Formula Ford 2000 cars are on the same program and they will be sharing a stand at Stoneleigh with us .

Well done Peter.
Good work - the James Beckett Motorsport dates became available during early December and I have just two more 'new' races to be added which will benefit all.

Cheers James you know better than most just how much help the BARC have given us to achieve the dates Sorry Donington clashes with Brands GP . I would love to do Monza and im sure some of my guys would as well, but if we were to do it the best option would be take a space on a team truck so ask the question of any teams . Plus we need to be back the following week for Combe .

SuperSeries will need support from all areas to allow it to grow - the Europeans are very keen at the moment, and we will be working with transport to aid cars to get to Monza (and back) ready for their next race. As will happen with Croix en Ternois in France as well. Date clashes can't be avoided sadly.
The Brands GP races are the 'jewels' for the CoB and carry The Bert Ray Memorial Trophy banner in July and the SuperSeries title in August. Both big races.

Also - I forgot to say, the 'Kentagon Cup' class in the 2012 Champion of Brands will be for Pre 90 cars. Previously this class (2010, 2011) had been run for cars Pre 87.

There hasnt been as good a time to get that Pre 90 car out for years . With the Classic formula ford ,BRSCC and JEB all running races .
Prices have gone up this year and people are going to mis the boat if they dont buy a car soon .

Hi,
This looks like a great calendar to me, and well done as looks like this pre-90 series is getting off the ground now.
Hopefully (if I get engine back in time and things go a bit better this year), I will be interested in doing the Brands, Silverstone and Combe rounds in my rf87. If goes well I may even spray the work in the car in it's original van diemen duckhams colours, as reckon this would look good in a pre-90 race with other cars in their original colours.

Great to have you on board Duckhams colours would be excellent love to have a grid of period colour schemes
Dont forget if you want extra races James has some at Brands indy and GP and Combe have there Formula Free so you could get some testing in before our final round .
