Nice intro. I'm looking forward to it but wondering if Webber's luck will hold, especially after the last race.

From what they've said could be postponed until tomorrow morning..it's that bad. Rivers of water apparently, doubt it'll dry in time. Not sure what the drainage is like.
Just saw a photo on F1.com of the front straight, holy shiz, lota water. |

The latest word is that the FIA has reserved a time slot of 10.00am tomorrow morning for qualifying, with conditions currently worsening from P3.
Given that the qualifying was scheduled to start at 4.00pm local time, and sunset there is I think c 6.00pm at this time of year, there is very little window for delayed qualy to happen today. I guess that if the track is dry by tomorrow morning it will ease any difficulties with what set up to run in qualifying, taking out the set up compromises that might have been chosen. |

I saw third practice on-line. It looked pretty wild. Buemi spun going really slowly....Justin sucks for anything other then older F1 races. Next time go to www.firstrow.net. Works great!

Decision will be made ten minutes before qualifying as to whether it will be delayed.

The post-qualifying parc fermé makes worse: dry weather is expected for Sunday.

This should be a real exciting qualifying session.
There's no way cars hit the track for at least 2 hours. |

Speed just switched to live video from the track, and I see that it's a 'good news, bad news' situation.
The bad news is that with the torrential downpour, it's virtually impossible to have a qualifying session this afternoon. The good news is that Mark Webber is going to put on a water skiing exhibition, towed around the track by the safety car. (Actually, I think that no qualifying today constitutes both the good news and the bad news.) |

When was the last time:
Qualifying was canceled? How is the field set, if that happens? A grand prix was postponed to the next day? |

it's not postponed just yet but being delayed. it should be updated in about 10 minutes. but from the looks of things it'll be tomorrow. which sucks, but oh well.
EDIT: it is postponed. guess tomorrow will be a day of events. |

If the session cannot be completed tomorrow, field will be lined up by 2009 constructors points, which is the dumbest idea I've ever heard of it. So many better options to set the grid than that. |

What's wrong with using the current drivers championship standings? Using last years constructors sounds silly, I mean, where will Brawn be on the grid?
They may as well use the drivers shoe sizes to set the grid if they are going to do it that way. |
