Why are nobody racing the McLaren? What about the Bentleys? Nissan GT-R's?

The McLaren tends to break in anything longer than a 3 hour race, Bentley are concentrating on Blaincpain with the new Continental and the Nissan is now old and abit out-classed these days, despite the new update. Also, if someone did choose to run a GT-R, they probably wouldn't get much support from Nismo as they are reluctant to have anything to do with this place ever since that Mardenborough crash.

Hopefully they sort the lack of sound on Grello's onboard soon.

Alternative timing: https://timing.71wytham.org.uk/s/wige
Better font, easier to distinguish one line from the next, colours to signify various bits of important information, dark theme so is nicer at night.

Hello friends! It's a super busy weekend for me so I'll just throw this out here: we've got LOTS of stuff on www.gt-report.com including a couple of give-aways of some pretty cool stuff and interviews, pics, reports and a daily driver's blog.

Enjoy the race weekend!

The no. 246 BMW M235 Cup car has a driver called "Fozzie Bear". I know about the long history of racing here under a pseudonym - "Steve Smith" and "Geowin" are Nurburgring regulars - but I've never seen Fozzie Bear. Outstanding.

Huge shunt just before Flugplatz for the 89 Audi TT. Got squirrelly over the crest, went hard into the tyres on the left and then a front flip(!) across the track nearly collecting one of the non-GT3 Aston Martins.

Does anyone have a link to the GPS tracker for the cars?

#911 goes 3rd, even after he went onto the grass and nearly hit the armco.

3 in the top 4, all with laps under 8:10? No, there's not conclusive proof of an imbalance yet...

Do the rules still allow them to adjust the BOP, like they did several years ago before the race?

The gap to the rest of the field is small though. Plus, we've seen in the past that the ADAC doesn't like Porsche. The Porsches could all have done 8:15s and would probably still be saddled with an extra 20kg come tomorrow.

If you download the Racing App, you can track any of the cars live positions.

I'm there in a few hours time with my team, not driving the 24 though.

Well... last time I remember a truly controversial BoP change on race morning was 2011. Ballast dumps and restrictor cuts across SP7, SP8 and SP9 in that year after quali and a GTE Ferrari on pole. And despite being among the hardest hit, who won that year?

Manthey.

EDIT: Rough timing on the onboard feed from Vanthoor's pole lap times his Nordschleife-only section at around 6:30. On the day of Bellof's legendary lap, that time would have put him third on the grid. And GT3 cars have officially crept to within under 20 seconds of that record.

Vanthoor ended up on the grass on both laps. The first time he nearly (must have been millimetres) ended up in the armco.
