read an article in the Telecrap today with Morris saying it will be hard for Skaifey at Bathurst without the "super rich toys" but in it he was very complementary of Murph.

thats the most complement i've seen Morris give a driver other then his own in a fair while. maybe Murph could be a target for a Castrol car if a name driver is needed?????

can't see Murph leaving where he is now though. if on the off chance it happened farout PMM will be the nursing home of V8's.

Whispers from the powder room suggest that the much talked about Castrol funding may not be ending up at PMM after all. From a famed jigsaw puzzle putter togetherer, it was was suggested that SBR may be the team benefitting from the largesse of the Castrol funding.

The way the story goes in jigsaw puzzle land, the restriction of running a "falcon" head on the side of the FPR car meant the Castrol logos were marginalised, such that the brand was difficult to spot amongst a number of other brands

While SBR's cars are largely uncluttered in design, with few smaller sponsors detracting from the main brand, but still meeting Castrol's criteria of being a factory team

Presuming the jogsaw puzzler hasnt used a hammer to bash the pieces together

Seeing that Castrol's desire to have a car in their corporate colours conflicts with FPR's Ford factory deal requiring a predominantly blue livery, can't see how this would be any different at SBR.

Me thinks the jigsaw puzzler may be trying to force some parts together that don't fit.

Wasnt Castrols decision to leave not only because of the Falcon on the side of the car, but also the fact that the car had to be blue? So moving across to SBR where the same "Blue Car" condition would apply wouldnt be any more satisfying?

Stories suggest the Commercial Factor at FPR reckons a bigger sponsor can be found to replace the one shown the door.

Put any other fluff and powder angle on it you like, but Castrol were essentially pushed.

If Stone Brothers were going to run a third car (satellite team?), it won't have Ford sponsorship on it, so they would be free to use Castrol colours, I would think.

There was an interesting story recently in the motorsport press that SBR were trying to get a car up for Homebush, using the lazy Intabill REC, for one M.Marshall.... but it was declined.....

Wilson Security on the two Team Pinks, Bradley had them on his hat - not sure about the other Team Alburies, and Team NotSo as well.

Mr McMellon was in a lot of places, spreading his V8Bet it seems.

Yikes, even a return of Andrew Jones is a better option than Percat. He took three years to get his act together in Formula Ford... throwing him in the main show without a Fujitsu season would likely to be the end of him.

Meanwhile, it was interesting to see McConville's comments after the race yesterday. He was very complimentary of JR, and sounded more than just a bit like a driver headed for retirement...

McConville's drive in the wet was rather impressive.
