He did quite a few laps in the McLaren today, but I've not really seen anything in that to make me feel that he will underwhelm. or anything else.

Button is going to smash Perez. There is no doubt.

Don't think we can judge Vettel's prospects just at the moment. He hasn't took his beanie hat off yet.

i'm with you on perez, it's the kind of judgement fail that mclaren are excelling at recently. he just seems like a slower version of button.

regarding vettel not having taken his hat off yet, that's a good thing. his off season hair is diabolical.

Red Bull are off to a good start with their car, but we need to see what Vettel's impression of it are before we can make any comment on that.

Webber reckons that Red Bull are further ahead with the car than they were last season. The Lotus was very quick again. Marrusia only did a few laps. Lots of mid-field cars seem to be surprisingly quick. Ferrari don't seem to be too bad, but they're not getting talked about very much. hmmmm.

Think the mid field cars look quick because the front runners are sand bagging more. Mclaren look like they should be keeping RBR honest, unless they accidentally hit the tyre sweet spot and cant find it again.

much like FP on race weekends it's hard to tell what the cars are going to judge what the cars are actually going to do in the race. We're not going to get a good feel for who's fastest until Qualifying in Melbourne.

New Pirelli tyres have a wider working range, so shouldn't be a problem.

It's funny how driver issues always seem to overflow into the technical stuff, but rarely is it the other way around.

It's pre-season testing. Pretty much everything is up for discussion, drivers and cars.

This is the first time we can compare previous performance levels between the 2 cars & if Hamilton is to be believed, it would explain Mercedes' post Brawn GP lack of competitive speed against the Fez, RB & Mac.....over the course of a season that is.

These sorts of issues are not an overnight fix so LH has his work cut out. Hopefully his mood swings wont return if things get rough, otherwise he'll have the straight shooting Niki Lauda to answer to.

As long as Lewis is equal to or better than Nico he will be fine.

Otherwise it would appear that Niki's ammunition may be a little damp if Lewis is to be believed.

And that would be in comparison to last seasons McLaren. Work to do? Yes, most definitely!

We also can't read into the times too much, either. Rosberg was fastest at last seasons Jerez test.......

Rossiter seems to be doing okay.

The Williams seems to be very slow, even if it is last year's car. Day 1 - 9th, Day 2 - 9th, Day 3 - 9 th.

Well, he won that race because the tyres just happened to suit his car on that day at that track under those particular conditions. After that....not much to say.

Definitely high fuel runs. The 2012 Williams is definitely capable of faster times than that, even with Yuji Ide driving it.
