1995 Le Mans test weekend
Not sure if this is the correct forum for this question. Mods - please feel free to move if necessary.
I'm trying to find a picture of the front end of the winning McLaren F1 GTR from the Le Mans pre-qualifying weekend in April 1995. At pre-qualifying this car was orange and silver. Usual web searches have so far drawn a blank, and the 1995 Le Mans annual and program only have side and rear shots of the car. Any pointers, greatly appreciated. |

Thanks guys, it seems quite an elusive beast. I'll look again through AutoSport, I have the whole of 1995 in the loft, which is the best bet I guess, and I'll try Dave Stephens (thanks Happy Snapper).

Thank you Charles, that is exactly the kind of shot I was looking for. Needed to find this for a modelling project. Good site as well, I knew about your site but had lost the link, thanks again.

iucrmh:
Pics of #01R in it's original livery are very rare indeed. In addition to the one that charly3535 posted (which was completely new to me), I have only seen 8 others -- nine if you count the '95 promotional poster where it's hidden behind a red NSX. I only have a few rarely seen photos of the frontend view. They probably won't help you much, but I'll let you decide that for yourself... I think that I have seen one more which could help you in your project. I'll see if I can dig it up. Also, would it be possible for you to post the pictures of this car from the program that you were speaking of earlier? I would very much like to see them. |
