10/10s at Silverstone Classic

So, who's going?

How about a 'meet up' say after racing on the Saturday - have a few beers (or lemonades for those driving). Not sure yet where the marshals' camp site will be, but my caravan will be there in it's usual disguise as a beer tent so could be a convenient place to gather!

Clive,
I'll be there, but only Friday & Saturday, so unfortunately I'll have to head home on Saturday night. I e-mailed their website about camping and was swiftly informed that it would be on the outside of Copse.

Well, how's about a Friday evening shindig as well then, for those not able to come Saturday, or for those wishing to practice for the Saturday? I'm there for the duration etc

I thought we would be on the outside of Copse again its a nice place to camp actually. I would haev thought the runway will be being used as paddock area due to the huge amount of cars that are going to be there. Will be nice to be out of the way a bit.

I'm there all three days...looking forward to it as I missed it last year.

I will hopefully be there all 3 days arriving Thursday evening. Has anyone received there passes yet?

It would be good to have a bit of a get together. Glad to hear the camping is on the outside of Copse, hopefully it will have the same facilities as were there for the FIA GT's.

Cheers,

Neal

We'll be there Friday and Saturday (working) with Sunday as our "walkabout". Are staying with the Whitlocks in the village, will try to visit the campsite and say "hello".

We'll be there on the Sunday only. We are manning the Marshal's Club recruitment stand (not sure where it will be, but I'm sure someone will tell us before we get there!)

Grandslammer should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Had my passes today,(doing the 3 days),just wondering if the parking arrangements for sign on and travelling to post, are the same as last year,(couldn't make it)
I take it there's no car access at all for Marshals,to the centre/infield areas ??

You assume correctly Grandslammer, theres just too much going on on the inside to let us have access. Marshals are asked to park in the marshals campsite at the outside of copse and walk over the ped bridge to sign on and then access posts via the perimeter road, those on posts on the infield are asked to park on the outside and walk across.

I'm there all three days so hope to put a few names to faces.
Will be arriving Thursday evening and getting settled in.

Looking forward to this meeting, it's just my kinda thing, carwise.
I'm especially looking forward to seeing the bikes as well, being a regular bike marshal with Bemsee (the best motorcycle racing club in the world).

Don't know where I'll be either....but that only adds to the mix and this is my 27th year Marshalling at Silverstone.

But take this from an old f... I mean someone with experience! this weekend promises to be a great one, what with 22 races- full grids- Katie Melsomeoneorother (So my Daughter has told me!) I'm looking forward to the Group C Cars.

Should be one to remember.

See you there.

I'm afraid I won't be there, I'd volunteered for all 3 days but have had to pull out of yet another event because of my knee.

Have fun and play safe
