The most beautiful car ever made.
IMO it has to be any one of these three.

Lancia Stratos
AC Cobra
Jenson Interceptor

Just out of interest silver, which Cobra? The 289 or the 427. I know the 427 was the one that gave the big perfromance figures, but I think the 289 is probably the prettier car.

kingfloopy should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I posted in the ugly car section so I figured I should post here also. So here's my list:

-Lotus Elise
-Plymouth Superbird
-Ford RS200
-Lancia Stratos
-Lancia 037 Rallye (did I mention I like Group B cars a lot)
-1979 Ford F-series pickup (laugh if will but these are best looking trucks ever)
-Subaru SVX
-Saab Sonnett

There are a lot of others I could list too, but I'll keep this short.

I have to add another car to my list. For some reason I really, really like the Seat Altea MPV. I saw one in a magazine and really like the way they look, too bad all we get in the U.S. are big hulking SUV's and ugly crossovers.

That's a pretty poor photo on the SVX. The wheels looks especially dated. A UK spec car, in the popular silver colour still looks modern these days, not many other early Nineties coupes have aged so well (I'm looking at you Vauxhall Calibra).

For some reason I really like the SVX. I admit there aren't a lot of cars that look exactly like it, but it does seem to still look modern despite the fact the original design is 13 years old. It's an aggressive looking car that appears like its ready to get down to business to me. I'd also have to say it is a major improvement over the XT it replaced. Plus, they are fairly rare (although a lot are in Iowa, must be the snow) so I always notice them when one does appear.

Pretty awesome innit?

Runs the BMW M5 V8, so rather good performance too.

Frighteningly expensive though.

Yes, although you might also want to take a look at:-

http://tentenths.com/forum/showthread.php?t=70969

Agree that Wiesman GT is a pretty stunning piece of kit. The front end looks like an updated C-type Jaguar. If you want to learn more, get the November issue of EVO; they've driven it!

Lotus esprit followed by the Ferrari 308 and the toyota supra

As far as modern cars go, the 350Z and the DB9 both score highly as well.

I also a big admirer of the old 80's german cars although you wouldn't call them sexy
Quattro SWB
Golf Mk2 (classic...if you have never owned one it should be on the list)
BMW E30 M3...need I say more

I'm somehat biased to the Supra, I have a huge soft spot for the MC12, Aston DB9 (the classy cruiser), Pagani Zonda and (I know it might be stretching the 'road car' idea, but I find Dauer 962 easy on the eyes).

I'm not a huge fan of much modern design, the lines tend to be to sharp and 'edgy'

Welcome, quick-dry. Yes, I tend to like softer curvy lines, too! I think the new V8 Vantage is even better looking than the DB9 but for sheer beauty of line, the original 'modern' Aston, the DB7, takes some beating.

interesting mix of old and new stylings... looks pretty good in white, but the first google links that come up on a search show an orange one. That looks a bit

It is a pretty car, kind of ironic that the Germans have built something that seems to be more traditionally British than any British sports car manufacturer!

SpawnyWhippet has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
In alphabetic order, not preference order.

Aston Martin: Le Mans race car from 2002, DB6, DB9, Vanquish.
Ferrari: 250 California Spyder, 250 GTO, SuperAmerica, 360 Spyder, 612, 575M.
Jaguar: Mk1 E-Type 4.2 DHC.
McLaren: F1, (I wouldn't argue vigorously against them giving me a free SLR either)
Mercedes: SL (new shape), 300SL Gullwing.
Porsche: 550, Boxster concept car from 1994, Carrera GT
Shelby: GT350 Fastback

Probably a few more that didn't spring to mind.
Don't like many Lamborghini's though.

It has drawn heavily on styling cues from Jaguar, AC and Ferrari. Something not quite right about it, maybe the headlights?
The mirrors are suspect, as is the Triumph GT6 roof.
Otherwise, a nice looking thing, but I wouldn't choose it over a Ferrari 360 or 911 Turbo.

I know someone who had a 360 and replaced it after about a year because he has so many problems with it. He also didn't like the way people kept watching him drive past so he replaced it with a 996.
