New to the forum and circuit racing
Hi all
I am new to tentenths and going to be new to circuit racing when I start next year. I have been sprinting on and off over the last 4-5 years in my escort and focus and have done a few track days. I have a 1980 mk2 escort 1700cc and I'm going to be racing in the CTCRC GROUP1. I have not yet done my ARDS and my car is not race ready but should be ready for next year. Is anyone racing in this championships or any of the CTCRC Championships. Is there anything that is common to be overlooked and cause problems that I need to be aware of. Any advice for my first season circuit racing and people's views of the championship. Thanks in advance Bradley |

Welcome, Bradley. I'm sure there will some Tenthers who will be able to offer advice when they spot this thread.

can't help with CTCRC, but would suggest you shop around for the ARDS test , there used to be quite a difference in prices form circuit to circuit.

I can speak for the CTCRC in being a great place to race your Escort. There's a good friendly atmosphere in the paddock with a barbecue on every Saturday evening. The Group One Championship is enjoying a good revival thanks to the hard work of Stuart Caie and the club offering rebates on entry price based on numbers entered. We just had a great weekend at Brands just gone, the grids were good and the racing close but fair in most cases. If you need anything specific then I'm sure Stuart or myself can point you in the right direction.

I recommend The Motorsport Scool at Mallory Park for your ARDS; Pete Edwards is the main man there. You will get some coaching and advice there, not just the test.

Thanks for all your replies. I was looking to go brands for my ARDS as its only down the road and I've done 6 or 7 track days there so know that track better than any of the others.
I have spoken to Stuart through email he was more than helpful (and he drivers an old ford ) I was at the last meeting at brands and was very entertaining racing. I am going to come along to watch the round at snetterton hopefully meet a couple of you. Thanks |

Brad. If you are still considering pursuing your dreams after reading some of the threads on this forum, you are a better man than I am.
I would add a smiley here but they have all gone away. |

I'll do it for you, Bob
You really should be able to click on the Go Advanced (like your age!) box, and select one! |
