Scammonden marshals, 6th June
Mid Cheshire are running a hill climb at Scammonden on 6th June and guess what - we are short of marshals. Anyone interested in a day out with us?
PM me and I will sort details for you Thanks |

Ooh - any chance of getting an entry still? Who do I contact? Is there a list of Scammonden dates anywhere?

Hi Graeme.
Can you please contact Ian Webster with all your details. He will post/fax/email a set of regs to you but if you can get all the basic details to him ASAP he will book you in. If you want to phone him, he will be in Friday night. Tel: 01606 835644 email: IanWebster0@tinyonline.co.uk (zero not O after Webster) Look forward to seeing you there - any other Caterhams interested in entering or marshalling? Let me know if I can help with anything else |

Its near Huddersfield - its actually right alongside the M62 (eastbound) - if only you could just slip of the motorway to get to it. You know the big reservior you go over on the M62? That's Scammonden dam - the hillclimb is the dam access road.

What is the format for the day, ie sign on time and expected finishing time. What classes are running?
If I can get a pass out I might come out of retirement. |

Hello Jim, sign on for marshals is at 8.30/8.45 and we normally finish at about 4.30/5.00. I haven't seen an entry list but expect saloons, Caterhams/Westfields etc. Perhaps a few clubmans and FF's.
It would be great if you could make it to help. If you come passed Scammonden as Graeme describes on the M62 and take the next junction, 23 onto the A640 to a roundabout - go round and back onto the A640 to Rochdale (it's dual carriageway so you go back on yourself for a few hundred yards) Follow up a hill passed the Jack O Mitre pub on the right hand side, about 2/3 miles, to a sign for Scammonden. Turn down a smallish lane and where it bears sharp left, go straight on. Bear right under the motorway and turn immediate left along the side of the motorway. At the end of the lane there you will find a gate which is the entrance to Scam. Hope this helps if anyone does want to come. |

No, no passes - it is only a small meeting. I am not the Chief Marshal but I expect we would want you at a corner with a red flag, if that's okay?

Just out of interest, what's Scammonden like for spectating/photography? I keep meaning to have a drive up but never seem to get round to it.

There are some quite good places (as a non-photographer) if you are happy to scramble a bit. There's a good but a bit distant view of most of the hill from the dam.
If you do come and take some could you let us have some copies for the newsletter? |

Cheers, I can't make it for this weekend as I'm off to Cadwell. Have you got any dates for the rest of the season at all?

Sorry about that. This is our last at Scammonden although we have another at Curborough. I will check and let you know the remaining Scammonden meetings run by other clubs though

Scammonden dates are:-
19 July 22 August Possibly 19 September They are run by small clubs so I suggest you check things haven't changed before you go to any meeting. |

Mike, I am sorry, I have to go to Scotland tomorrow and I do not think i will be back in time for Sunday. Bit dissapointing, however work seems to get in the way of so much at the moment. What its like to be popular. Sorry again, but let me know if you are stuck again and if I am about I will try and attend.

Great day in the sun trap of Scammonden Dam. Nice cars, great people, just a fine way to spend a Sunday.
This is civilised motor-sport. |
