Autopsport are reporting that Matt Davies might miss the Snetterton rounds of the F3 due to a cash shortage. He says he's got together 80% of the money needed to do the race.
On the subject of Avanti's second driver, Autosport are reckoning it will be Pavlovic. |

For a start be vary sceptical about what you read in the Autosport. Don`t get me wrong its a great magazine, but there are a lot of personal opinions rather than fact published in it. I believe Matt will be have the budget for Snetterton, and that Pavlovic is the most likely second driver all being well.
As far as the BRDC prize money goes, i hope that the guys at silverstone will look carefully at drivers in the British F3 series, and could possibly see a way out of the Paffet problem by helping drivers like Davies and others through financial backing, rather than giving money away to a foreign race team in another country. This would seem like a much more applicable answer to the overall wrangling and would also do little damage to the publics perception of the BRDC. |

I'm inclined to agree that Matt will have the cash from somewhere, I thought the piece in Autosport sounded like him having a speculative fish for funding.
As for the BRDC, I wouldn't be at all supprised if it was them who made sure that Matt had the cash. They don't normally make a song and dance about it but if you look in their accounts there are a number of young drivers who have benfitted. I don't think it will be at the expense of Paffett though, they gave him the prize and they will stick to it. |

I did hear a rumour recently that the BRDC have already given a huge sum of money to a certain british f3 driver!
As yet the BRDC have failed to give me an answer to the Paffett question. Maybe they're trying to think up a good one! |

Francesca,
That "certain British F3 driver" might well be Aaron Scott, if the Silverstone program is to be believed. Aaron's father is a member of the BRDC, but I'm "sure" that it was "not" a "factor" in getting the sponsorship.... |

Aaron's father isn't a member of the BRDC, he's a BRDC official, there is a difference. To be a BRDC member you have to have finished at least 3rd in an international Motor Race, something Aaron's dad certainly hasn't....
As for Aaron getting BRDC cash, I hope not they *usually* show better judgement. |
