Geva-Nelson should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
And.... what's the worst?

might as well open another one: What is the worst FF?

If Swift rocked in the nineties, they really got it wrong in 2000. That car was just horrible when u ran it. Also, the delta that my dad got new and actually broke in half after a couple of races deserves a mention!

Was that the one called Pterodactyl, or was that the VanDiemen RF83? Horrible thing that was.

RF83 was last of the front rads massive rear with built in air scoop.

Ross Cheaver run his with out the back won most rounds of the COB and roll out of the 83 festival at paddock one of the biggest FF crashes I seen.

RF84 was long and narrow drivers with "stairs" in the rear body

Both were some of the worst VD built hardly see any around now.

My father lead his heat ahead of works RF83 in his 80FF Ray.

Fortunately for VD they went back to the drawing board and produced the RF85. Neat compact and very effective unlike the 84 tank!

Remember the rows about the wing profile table fitted to the rear body work on the original RF85

I don't remember the rows but remember how quick your Dad was. Formula Ford was cracking at Brands in those days.

Yes it was qualification races sometimes.

Changing it to Kent and making it 50% or 60% Lydden started it's decline, then adding FFZetec nearly killed it. MSV was fantastic if only JP had comitted to year two we could be back to full grids at Brands.

Now MS is really a Midlands / Silverstone based championship with only one Brands round a year.

Ugly and no one could make it work price of 84 Reynards went mad as people tried to buy them back. That was a nice car Sala Russian Green racing?

Heard years later Adrian said FF85 was very complex and complicated but the principle was good!

I remember reading an interview with Eddie Irvine around the time he first drove with Jordan in F1 and he reckoned that his worst motorsport moment up to that point was driving a Quest in FF1600......I believe Johnny Herbert won the Festival in one in '85? Correct me if I'm wrong.

There is one Reynard '85 doing the rounds at the moment that is pretty good...........and not far off the pace...........

See Stuart Dix in the Pre '90 Formula Ford. Although, the only thing that tells you it's an '85 is the bodywork. It is a master craft of adaptation. Some of the engineering on it is superb and it's working. First in class at Anglesey and 5th overall.

Not bad!

........If only the championship had been organised/notified to drivers earlier in the season then maybe it would have had greater support. As it was I think a lot of people had already made their plans
