1600 Lotus Twincams

I have had a notion for years of running a single seat racecar with a Lotus Twincam in it. Are there any classes of Formula 3 or suchlike where a Lotus twincam can be competitive?

Many thanks,

The series would be Classic Racing Cars of the HSCC.
There is currently a Lotus 20 B for sale that was fitted with a Lotus TC in period.
How that car would shape up against a later 1600 CC F2 such a Lotus 58 is another question.
But my guess is that it would be reasonbly competitive.
That route would be my reccomendation.

You could run car powered by a Lotus 1600 CC engine in CF3 but that would be very much towards the end of the grid.

There some veeeeeeeery rare cars powered by a sleeved down Lotus TC 1500 that the HGPCA accepts. But only if that very chassis run in GP in period in that configuration. There is a Cooper that races regularly.
A Lotus 27 TC has been thrown out.
A very expensive route and You would need to do Your homework before hand

Hope this helps

Rudolf

Not quite Rudolf, the 27 in question is welcome but only with a slower driver......

The formula 3 class from 1971 to 1973 was predominant by cars with Lotus Twin Cam engines.
