Hardly anyone here will know who he is Gordon, A great rival of the DRIVER

Drove Mazda's Escorts all very well, and was hard, but fair.

And bent the rules no doubt as most Hot Rodders in those days!

He was doing saloon stock cars when I started and was a top man in that, he changed to the Rods when they started going "mega" and at one time he was doing both at the same meetings, along with George he was sponsored by Custom Car that were heavily into oval circuit racing at that time

Sad news. My mum used to watch him on the short ovals when she was young and of course passed on the racing genes to his son Rob. Condolences to him and the family

The SpeCTator should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Duffy was a legend, along with the Barry Lee and George Polley.
Of course father to BTCC Rob Collard and Grandfather to Ricky and Jordan, both races too.
Thoughts with the family, a real racing dynasty.

They held a minute's silence before the racing at Wimbledon last night(best of British hot rods), very touching. Bl..dy freezing as usual!

I last saw him there at an F1 meeting a few years ago, a mate of mine had a proper hero worship moment!

Sorry to hear this. As Gordon says ... one of the three legends. Never saw him race live but saw him many times on TV when World of Sport broadcast hot rods in the 70s. I don't think any of the top names ever came up to Newton Aycliffe or Odsal where I used to watch.

Odsal would be unlikely unless it was when it was tar, and Aycliffe, probably not either, Hot Rods not big up there, certainly not Nationals, but big in Scotland, so a Friday night before Scotland could have happened

Used to visit Wimbledon in the 70's with my dad, no.19 Duffy Collard was always one of my favourites, a great driver, easily as good as George Polley and Barry Lee, and a very nice man to a small boy with an Autograph book ( got to sit in the car and pretend to be a Hot Rod ace) helped kindle my love of all things motor racing and classic Fords.
