Garrett should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Nordschleife

Hey dudes, I know that this realy has nothing to do with the upcoming 24 hours of Le Mans race, which I might add will be a great and fast race, if there is good weather?, but I have heard that the last time that any race was run on the old Nordschleife circuit was in 1983! Great to see the circuit being uesd again, but why is the track being used again? (Can't wait to Le Mans)

It has been in use every year, they just quit using it for big international races. It used to used also for a DTM race, but I think they have stopped using it (once saw Ellen Lohr fly up and over the barrier in a shunt a few years ago)

The track is open for driving most of the time also. Should you find yourself in Germany you should go see it.

Bit of confusion here. The exact Nordschleife as used in F1 & WSCC days was last used in 1982.In 1983 a temporary version without the pits loop was used. Since then it has included part of the new GP kurs,so is about a mile longer. Apart from the 24hrs,there is a 8 meeting annual series-the Langestreckepokal-for touring & GT cars. There were also support races at the 24hr meet for DTC/Alfa 147s,Clios/Fiestas & Toyota Yaris.Single seaters are not invited!

The 24h Rennen is huge with starting fields of over 200 cars and the place is jammers for a week with plenty of beer consumed by the hordes.

And the track itself has to be experienced to be believed. There is nothing like it in the world. Just pull up to the gate, stick in your ticket, and you too can get the same view as the racers.

If you would like an intro to the place, get in touch...I'm just down the road.
