Converting to sportscars

I do believe I am now preferring sportscar racing to F1 racing. When I started my interest in motor sport in the 60's I loved all forms of car racing, but Grand Prix racing was my favourite, but only just though, because sportscar racing was very nearly the equal, and the GP drivers drove sportscars too then. And there was CanAm!
Over the years F1 was still my favourite, even during silly times like when aerofoils were up on stilts etc. but then came the Schumacher years and it all went t**s up as far as I'm concerned. Things have changed a bit of course, but we are certainly not in some "golden years" of F1 ! Some will think we are because of different winners etc etc, but hey, we have had Maldonado winning a GP!
If I was to now go to a non-club racing event, in the UK or overseas, it would most likely be a sportscar event as opposed to a GP, Monaco excepted.

If sportscar racing had the promotion and tv that F1 does, F1 would have to seriously look over it's shoulder and sort itself out. No way is it true that the top 20 drivers in the world are in F1, but tv makes Jo Public think that's the case. Jo Public is not realising there's far better and more interesting racing going on than F1.

Of course F1 doesn't have the 'world's 20 best drivers' even though it's highly likely that some/many of the 20 best drivers in the world are in F1.
