Lotus Badge Mystery

x

I have an old photograph of my 1960 Lotus 18 FJ which shows a second metal(?) badge on the nosecone in front of the Lotus one. The picture was taken at the Bridge Pa Sprint in New Zealand in April 1967, the driver being Clive Bush. He can't remember what it was, but the holes where it was fitted are still there. The car was one of ten delivered new to the Jim Russell Racing School, and it came to New Zealand in late 1961. Can anyone identify this badge? Was there ever a Jim Russell school badge?
