I thought they just did that. They keep advancing by one year every year so that people have not got to accept the 'sudden' change from 60 to 65 (though of course the effect is the same ....) - and then they will drop them altogether.

Personally I think it would be better to keep the bus passes and drop the House of Comedians, as you rightly called it.

Glad it works OK for your Mum Joe, here where I reside not so good, can not use pass before 9am. or after 4pm. 4 bus's a day 8am 10am out 12 mid day 4-30 return, which means if you get the 10am bus you can not return 'free' till to-morrow...
addendum; used to have a 'post bus' OK getting to town no good now since they cut out second delivery..crazy, my names Exit I'm way out man just way out

It should only be given to those who really need it, that means using that phrase all labour politicians hate 'Means Testing'.

That used to be the same in London but they now use them any time which has helped the twirlies out no end.

Hmmm... not wishing to open a touchy subject, I along wi many others, contributed to the hair brained scheme, thought up by one o' THEM, whereby we received an extra tanner [2-5p] per week on our pension for every 7 quid we paid in on the 'stamp'. Not long after this, I joined the ranks of the look after yourself brigade. The valuable donation I made to THEM amounted to a whole 15p extra. So along wi Al the comedians in 'that place' do not find a deal of sympathy...Guy Fawkes..please

We do have plenty of "sharks" living down here but that particular one is painted on the bottom of the pool

Ah but you do get to put some of his Lordship's organic milk into it, better than the UHT rubbish you normally get. And she makes a mean cheeseburger.

But nothing beats the catering at Mallory, the best breakfast of any circuit?

It all depends on whether the said refreshment emporium belongs to the track or not, as a pitch cost a fair bit at most tracks !
