Nordic should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid

There was/is no rat concerning Maserati, they are meeting the demands of the FIA/ACO with regards to homlogation and are building a new specifcation car for the 2005 season to be fully legal rather than running with the penalties they are running with in FIA GT at the moment
Thats rather admiting the original was not legal.

Is it? Sorry but I dont agree, why would Maserati build a car that they knew would have been outside the regulations and would therefore not have been permitted to race? Sorry but that just dosent make sense, it strikes me there was some sort of rule change during the time the Maserati was being built and the time it was made legal for the FIA GT, probably to stop Maserati or discourage them entering. Just goes to show Maserati are willing to do whatever it takes to race, even with the ACO trying to discourage them...

i don't know if its so much discouraging Maserati to race as it is making sure the era of the GT1 doesn't return. the leading player in this whole thing was not ACO, but in fact Stephane Ratel... he is committed to making sure that the series doesn't spiral out of control with proto-GTs like it did in 1997 and 1998 (which happen to be my two favorite years of GT racing )

Maybe they hoped that the ACO/FIA would be so desperate to have a Maserati on the grid that the car was designed outside the rules hoping the rules would be changed to suit the car.

Its old news now anyway, I'm just glad that the ACO/FIA saw sence and have ensured the car suits the rules and not the other way round.

Looking forward to seeing it in action against the new vette and hopefully a sorted Aston.
