Re: Lola question

I BUMP this as I'd like to know to. I think you're right with the B2K bit, usually means the debut year, the 10/40/42 is probably just the random element.

The first part isthe year, and as far as I know, the second part identifies the type of car- for example the last Group C sportscar was the T92/10, and the LMP900's were the B98/10 and B2K/10. I think the same principle worked for single-seaters- the early 90's Indycars were T92/00, T93/00 etc and the F3000's T92/50 and T93/50

The T was changed to a B when Martin Birrane took over Lola, though he claims that it isn't his initial.

Yes KA you are right. T**/90 is sports 2000 cars. They went to it in 1986 i think after having T598 type numbers

But if ***/10s are sports cars, then how do you explain the ***/40 (B2K/40, B05/40) and ***/60 (B01/60)? Just speculating, ***/40 = LMP2 (though the B05/40 can run in LMP1 as well supposedly...)? ***/60 = '04 LMP1? Hell, who knows...;0)
