Olive should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Looking for a new car - ideas please.

I'm in the market for a new car.

Ideally low mileage and not more than a couple of years old.

Budget 8 to 9K.

I commute to work 4 days a week - a round trip of 70 miles each day.

Completely open to suggestion here.

One other thing - I won't be trading a vehicle in as part of the deal - how much of a negotiating bonus is that likely to be?

if your commuting long distances, although i dont like diesels a skoda fabia VRS might be worth a look, cheap little thing and it is efficient and being a diesel very economical as well and a hoot to drive, comfy also, what do you mean by low mileage though?

are we talking in the region of 0-2,000 or anywere up to about 10,000?

then i reccomend a skoda fabia VRS, will give you some sportiness and hot hatchyness and good performance with fab economy and good levels of comfort and reliability.

you could probably get a pretty much brand new one from a car supermarket place fords of winsford for £9,000

but good luck with whatever car you buy though

That's what I've got I do a 60 mile round trip daily (on a mix of A and B roads) and it's good on fuel doing that so if you're doing a motorway commute you'll be laughing. Add to that if you stick your foot down it does shift along quite nicely Only thing against it really is that it's quite small - if you're looking at carrying lots of gear about with you then it may not be the best choice.

Get a Skoda Octavia TDi - tonnes of space, plenty of poke, good on fuel.

Considering that the OP asked the question nearly six months ago, I think you may be too late with advice!
