Porsche Boxster
still wasting my time browsing, waiting for delivery of my new car.
i would have thought that being mid-engined, road going & able to carry two in comfort the porsche boxster would be an ideal trackday car for those wanting to drive to & from venues. am i right or wrong because there doesn't seem to be much evidence of this on the internet. |

Ah I see, I take it you don't see many hairdressers at track days then. s'pose there's no point, it'd only get messed up when you put your helmet on.

Boxster is, too heavy, soft and therefore lazy as a track car. The best usable road/track car around at the moment is by far the Honda Integra Type R DC5. If that doesnt float your boat your in a big compromise in one way or another territory with anything the sensible side of £50K.

Can't do the Integra Simon but I did pick up my new shiny black Civic Type R yesterday, I want to get a few miles on the clock before I thrash it round a race track, hopefully before the end of the month.

I had a 2.7 boxster which I took to quite a few track days during the 3 years I owned it. It is quite fun up to about 8/10th's. If you really push the car the brakes give up, the tyres will last as little as one decent track day and the car is not stiff enough.
I hope I am not putting you off as it is quite good fun within its limits, but dont try and keep up with a quick caterham. |

With earlier Boxsters now reaching the Low Teens in price, I think people might start buying them with the intention of tracking them.
