apguy should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Kumho Tyres BMW Championship

Okay I've done a search of the web including the ten-tenths links directory and I can't find any on-line reference to this series. Does anyone have a link for the regulations. I can't even locate who runs the series (BARC, 750mc, or BRDC?).

Don't worry I'm not vacating the CSCC, just investigating running a Beemer in the new pre 90 series and thinking about other series I could run in....

Cheers

The championship is run by the BARC, so if you hunt around in the section for the championship standings as www.barc.net, you may find what you are looking for there.
The racing in the series is normally excellent, and they have had some good sized grids this season, especially at Rockingham (no suprise).

Hi Andy - have you thought about the Toyo Tyres Road Saloon championship , a few of the guys in Rovers double up there , or I think there is the Luminition Saloons - but you have to drive the car to the circuit.......There is also normally a Sports vs Saloons race at each of the AMOC meetings.

Hi ya Slowcoach

The Toyo Road Saloons was what I used to run the Sunbeam in (when it was still called Modified Production Saloons) and I was regularly lapped by Mr Cain :-)

I've been offered a really, really cheap '90 BMW 535i Sport with ZF dog leg box and was considering just chucking a cage in it and running it pretty much bog standard in pre 90. It has 240bhp as standard and is the size of the QE2 so I thought it would be amusing....It also came with 17" rims and 255 tyres as standard!

Having read the Kumho regs they seperate classes by BHP per TON and the 535 would probably be a class B in with all the E30 M3 Evo's, probably a little out of its league.

Toyo could be a laugh again. Is there any age restriction on the AMOC sports-saloons challenge?

PS See you on Sat/Sun. I swapped my broken engine over in 5 hours flat last weekend. The old engine had a hole in the block the size of a golfball :-(

Cheers

hi ap , I had one of the original M5's 1980 , one of 200 imported - fantastic car went like the clappers , did some sprints and hillclimbs in it - then wrote it off on the road. That was a 3.5 with a zf dogleg.
As far as age restrictions go , they used to prefer them to be pre-1980 but in the last one I was surrounded by those bloody little Lotus Elises and there are often a couple of late 924 Porsches so generally you should get in. Normally good grids and good variety of machinary.
I'll look out for you at the weekend old chap ......... good luck !
