docdave should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Speaking as it were from another standpoint, I would endorse the comments given especially as to full face helmets, having dealt with the results of open face inthe past. I think a good helmet a good seat WELL bolted down as per blue book with good spreader plates. a good harness is a given but it must be tight it is designed to stretch to reduce the deceleration G. All in the cabin wellfastened down again the consequenses of a low flying fire extingiusher are severe. Lastly for the benefit of rescue and me, a seat that in the event we can remove easily, four high tensile bolts seem to be the thing at the moment. On the whole though you are more likely to be injured in your road car than on the track, so do enjoy your racing!
