Interesting article here about the 1972 Brabham Indy car that used a similar design. |

That is excellent. Although they were done for different reasons. Armco was on the money: From another thread

I agree with Glen; I find the car very very nice, and very original.
Curiously, about originality, I cannot say the same about the new Sauber.. Last edited by climb; 13 Jan 2004 at 15:47. |

About ugly or beautiful...
According to Nigel Roebuck, Mario Andretti said a long time ago: "Any car looks beautiful in Victory Lane..." http://www.autosport.com/featuresask...p?id=25748&s=5 |

Ugly or beautiful, at least it got everyone talking...
There's really little point with an Arrows 98 car, which beautiful as it is, won nothing. And i would love a grid full of different cars... BUT...if reports of teams like Ferrari and Renault and Sauber is true...we might see a whole grid full of hammerheads.....ARGH!! |

That would be a shame. There are so many ways to skin a cat and still end up with the same (or at least effective)result. The teams that are about to jump on the bandwagon, need to get it to work with the whole car. They'll try it, but they have already spent several months of wind tunnel testing on their current designs, and getting it to work effectively will take some work.
Like in the "Jaguar Fault" thread Ferrari could get it right next week ! |
