Having recently acquired an X box i'm wondering whether the TOCA Race Driver game which is supposed to be available on X box will actually be playable on it at all?
I've seen no mention about it, so will it be available when its released, available later in the year on next year, or not at all. Can someone please tell me? |

It's been made primarily for the PS2 (this version is released on the 23rd of August). It is then going to be ported to the Xbox and is slated for release just before Christmas at the moment.

It will be good to race on the old Hockenheim, unless in the overhaul, they added the new one.

There's a review in the latest PSW and I have say I am very excited. They say that the racing is fantastic with super aggressive AI that actually try to block you from coming through. The handling is just on the right balance between arcade and sim. The story is supoosed to be good as well and really draws you in to the action. Just 3 weeks to go people!!

Has anyone tried the TRD e-toy from the Codies site? its 3 laps on an imgainary circuit against 3 other cars, with either the 406, MG, or the works and Egg Vauxhalls.
BTW, when is the release date for TRD on PC? |

Is TRD only available on PC DVD Rom? It's a pity it aint available on CD Rom if that's the case, means I won't be able to get it.

I don't think so, I'm pretty sure its standard CD Rom. If it is DVD Rom only then their sales would be greatly damaged.

If you don't have a PC with a DVD drive then it's not very likely that the pc will be able to run the game. They could put it on cd but it will be more than one cd and unless you dump a lot of data on your hard drive, you'll have to change cd's when playing the game, and yet again a PC without a DVD drive is likely to have a small hard drive so you don't want to fill it up with one game. Buy a half decent DVD for about £50, you can take it out when you get a new PC, DVD's aren't going to get much faster, same as some cd writers, which are getting very fast and the only upgrade in the foreseable future will be a dvd writer, and thats a couple years away for the average person.

There's a demo of the game on this months Official PS2 Magazine and having played it i'm left a little, uneasy. The presentation and AI are superb, the cpu cars are really aggressive, which is great. The only worry I have is the handling. In the demo (which addmitadly is only an 80% complete game) it feels a little arcardy and not too dis-similar to the car handling in GTA3 (yes GTA3 the crime game!). I'll still be buying the game on day of release and hope not to be disappointed.
