Full results:
http://adac.24h-rennen.de/portals/24h/extern/v2/ It is German, but when you click on the area on the left had side you can work it out See also the to Mirage's run by Mel Rose and the Corolla by Colin Osbourne I thought the times were all very slow, considering these are race cars(though most are production class) Anyway, I would love to do this event. |

So why has this thread been left here in Oz Touring cars?
This concerns euro racing featuring aussie drivers. Last week a similar thread concerning an ex V8 driver in Nascar was moved. I thought both threads were of interest to aussie motorsport fans and should have remained in the aussie topics. |

I don't necessarily agree with the Ambrose thread being moved, however, with this one we have Australian Drivers, in Australian Cars, from Australian Series, going over to a foreign race
Really for the Mods to decide, and they gave an explanation last time Stooge, now thats a diesel I would have! |

Notso. The cars come from Germany. The circuit is also quite German. The drivers are aussie although they sound a wee bit funny...
And I'll leave it for the mods too. |

fair points raised in this thread
But honestly I have no Idea where this thread should go ? I dont follow this type of series so I am pretty much at sea with it. I will move it if people want (to stay consistent , which is what I try to be ) but if you want it to stay here then I will leave it alone. P.S as for the Marcos Ambrose situation , by all means feel free to PM me about it , I am open to all opinions and if you feel (and I get several other approvals of this matter) then we as mods can discuss it and come to a conclusion. Moderation is a work in progress and we are prepared to bend if and when need be P.P.S another point i would like to raise is that this race is/was a one off event and these guys will be returning/have returned to Oz , Ambrose is now a full time nascar driver and no longer has anything to do with V8 Supercars and just because you maybe interested in what Marcos is doing doesnt mean you are not allowed to visit the nascar forum , you are obviously more than welcome to visit and post there. I hope that clears a few things up anyway Last edited by marcus; 23 Jun 2006 at 15:34. |

Considering we are talking holely and solely about an Australian based team going in this event, this is the most logical place for it, the Australian/New Zealand Motor Racing forum on Ten-Tenths. If it were in the Sportscars/GT Racing forum how many regular posters in this section would see it (bar the some of us that look at that forum), and the overseas contributers to the Sportscar/GT forum probably wouldn't give it a second look.

I know at least 4 cars were shipped from Australia, Don't know about the 5th. But I suspect that it was born in Germany, emigrated when it was younger, and has gone to its country of birth on holiday |

I dunno what you guys are on about.
there is discussion on plenty of other classes in this forum. and if your not happy with that then you can always start a thread about a certain class you want to discuss |

I could only see one commodore is the results...and a corolla perhaps made in Altona.
The others were all euro, jap, yank and a Hyundai. The less said about the Hyundia the better, but please tell me which other cars were Aussie. This one makes me laugh "Opel Astra Caravan" I can still remember the night we had a caravan race here at the Western Speedway....long since closed....take the third exit off the westgate, two right turns and you're there! What a night.... |

There you go Marcus, if you would like an example of the sort of thing Racer 69 and Mt Panorama are talking about you just need to look at MPA's comments. |

As I said earlier, I'll leave it to the mods. I was quite happy with the explanation by marcus and the discussions that followed.
Natso, please dont mistake me for a beer swilling grunt that wears an old army great coat that cant see past the V8 circus. You'd be very wrong there. Well ok, you'd be right about the beer part. |

Actually the last time (a few yeares ago) I had a conversation with a beer swilling grunt that wears an old army great coat he was reasonably knowledgable MPA. Not sure it was the same grunt though. |

OK plonkey.
My comments were valid and answers were given which were quite acceptable. Everyone has moved on and this thread was quietly sinking until you decided to take a shot at a poster instead of the post. If you wish to keep the thread alive, please expain why the comment was in your opinion 'Stupid" and leave the insults to the experts. Kind regards MPA |
