and hopefully, they haven't patched up any of the dodgy holes in the fences further down the hill.

SSHH and I didn't say this if you want some good shots through fence bring a pair of wire cutters with you. But didn't say this, wink wink.

I dont see the Ferrari playing second fiddle to any of the MM Ferrari's. No disrespect to Bowe - but he only drove 90mins in the 2014 event. The Bentley appears very much aimed at the Gentlemen class in GT3 where as we will the guns in the Ferrari's looking for outright success.

That's a big call and would signal the end of any Ferrari involvement.

I'm just trying to wrap my head around the situation thats all...

To me just seems strange no drivers for the MM Ferrari have been announced/spoken about.

We know where Vilander & Bruni are most likely gonna be...
AF Corse could have Fisi, Griffin, Bertolini maybe even Rigon or Calado at their disposal if they wanted.

After that how many Ferrari guns are there left... ?

Has Mika Salo done any other racing since the 12hr this year??

Interesting Cam McConville had a steer with MM at the 101 last weekend, would Cam be classified as a Seeded or Unseeded driver?

Salo raced at Le Mans this year in P2.

Other Ferrari may include Sam Bird, Marco Cioci, Johnny Mowlem, Alvaro Parente, Domink Farnbarker.

Cheers D.R.T. I just wasn't sure Salo had done any other miles this year

You'd assume Cioci, Rugolo & Wyatt will probably all be back for AF Corse again.

I keep forgetting Alvaro Parente has been driving a Ferrari this year, i just always think of him as a McLaren man

A little off this current topic... I would love to see the Quinns get the services of Alex Premat for their McLaren... Has Bathurst experience & now has McLaren experience this year. He'd be a fantastic replacement to SVG !

Entry list is shaping up really nicely. This race as well as Dubai have really taken a big step forward and get the endurance racing season off to a nice start.

Only worry for me would be the amount of yellow. 50+ multi-class cars on the mountain proved to be problematic maintaining green flag conditions last year. Too much yellow can dampen any endurance race (ask any TUSC fan).

Would having a 60kph limit between sections of an accident help. Similar to what they do for the nurburgring 24hr.

That's the beauty of the 12 hour race, in that you know that your still going to get many hours of green flag racing. If it was 50 odd cars and a 4 hour race, then I'd be worried.

I understood the eventual plan is to have the catchfencing all the way from the Cutting down to the exit of Forrests Elbow.

There is already no use in bringing a camera if your spectating from the Chase through to Hell Corner

Le Mans/WEC style "slow zones" and Code 60 style cautions would work perfectly for the Bathurst 12hr.

Are CAMS willing to give this a go though?

Has more fencing has gone up since this year's 12 hour?
I liked it along the stretch going into Murray's with the sun over your shoulder in the early part of the race. I can't remember if catch fence impeded my shots, or if I was able to get around it by standing up on the mounds or shooting through gaps. Also enjoyed various spots along the top, and the climb down to Forrests was worth it.

As a keen amateur photographer, the more catch fencing goes up, the more I get annoyed. I thought Highlands had a reasonable approach to the issue; hope Phillip Island doesn't do much more than what they have, and that Bathurst doesn't go overboard.

I hate the catch fencing as much as anyone else, but it does make for some more creative photography skills. I'm still a novice, but in that stretch you mentioned, their are still some great spots that you can get good shots from.
up on the mound at the chase, looking back up towards Conrod and the entry to the chase
out front of Rydges
on the mound at Murrays, looking up towards the chase, and looking up pit straight
on the mound at Hell cnr looking up the front straight and looking up Mountain straight
on top of the pit lane viewing area
Be interesting to see what effect the catch fencing has at next years race, but I learnt a lot at Le Mans this year on how to get around the catch fencing issue. Plus, I'm keen to give the new lens a run.

Was in Macau today and geez the Z4 sounds good. Surprisingly good, and by far the loudest out of Porsche / Bentley / Audi / Lambo / Ferrari / McLaren / Aston / Merc. Imagine it would be quite an experience to hear it coming into the Chase.
