It was formally announced that Honda would end the use of NSX-GT in GT500.

I remember they tested a current NSX GT500 with an engine in the front (Guess it was late 2008, with a picture of a NSX without the airscoop and the doors further to the back) Must not be aproved of by the orginisation or they themselves tested and found out the car was not as fast?...

Honda had certainly tested FR-NSX before.
However, the new car did not appear this year because the development of next model NSX(front engine car) had been canceled. However, JAF-GT500 regulations were revised, and it became possible to make the car that was not stock car a base vehicle. So, there is a rumor that Honda will use front engine NSX that became development discontinuance. |

Thanks for posting up the pics and information over the season Japanese Samurai it is appreciated.
Great to see the NSX go out with a win in it's last race! I will miss it as will many.... And congrats also to Wedsport (and Orido who I mainly know of through D1) for taking out the GT300 title. |

AUTOSPORT published the interview article on Ryuichi Matsui of TRD (About 09 engine).
GTA and three manufacturers decided the design of the 09 engine of FN and S-GT to be shared in 2006. 09 engine is 3.4 liters, 90-degree engine. The bore diameter of 09 engines is provided 93mm or less in 09 regulation. Therefore, stroke is decided about 62.6mm because of the engine displacement. This is "short-stroke" type engine. However, because the use of air-restrictor is obligated, the short-stroke type engine is not suitable for S-GT. It is because the long-stroke type is more advantageous to improve the compression ratio. The torque of 09 engine is more insufficient than that of 08 engine (4.5 liters). Therefore, 09 engines increase the engine rotational speed. The maximum speed of 09 engine is about 9000 rotations. (08 engine is about 8000 rotations, FN engine is 10300 rotations with the limiter.) Many of parts for FN and S-GT are common for the cost reduction. The valve and the piston use parts only for GT though the crankshaft is common. Toyota improve the suction system, and have improved the engine performance during the season by ten horsepower or more. |

wonder how it will compare to the R35s also is Toyota/lexus going to still run the sc430? Am i right in believing the engine will be a derivative of the LM-AR7 V8 Indy engine?
