A lot of people in Supercars have body art. (Courtney, Winterbottom, Whincup, etc) Can't see it being sponsor unfriendly. (Unless they're seen as offensive to the potential sponsors for which airbrushing/photoshop works well)

Back on track, hearing a possibility that Castrol might be scaling back it's sponsorship at Nissan/Kelly Racing next year.

From almost nothing to nothing may not be as big a loss as expected...

I know I have been out of Australia for several years so maybe I’m out of touch - but since when did tattoos become acceptable?

She could have had an enduring career in motorsport, if she had made better use of the opportunities given to her.

Once Instagram goes out of fashion, she'll vanish into obscurity.

Geez if you worked at that place and weren't a manager of some description, you'd be filthy! You'd be in the minority thats for sure.

Many younger generations have accepted tattoos as a expression of cultural freedom and is seen as a social norm. (Most of my friends and family have got ink somewhere on their body and they're nurses, engineers, accounts and many more top level and white collar jobs)

how old are you?

as long as it's not something like a swastika or a certain bodily implement plastered across their forehead it really doesn't matter what people plonk on themselves.

So.. will 888 remain a 3 car squad... or shrink back to the RBHRT in 2019?

Was kinda wondering if SdS may have been a shot at the seat but Mr Dane almost suggests Here that a different structure may be coming...

He was asked if he'd field a female driver, based on Holden's ambition to do so.

His response about the percentage of females in his current workforce, was not directly related to the very question. To me, it very much sounds like he wasn't entirely prepared to entertain the concept.

Just like a politician.

So since Mr. Lowndes is out of the #888 machine, who will be his replacement? A lot of noise is that Simona will take his old seat.

I hate to see Lowndes go, but he is leaving while stilll competitive, and seeing Simona in that team would make me happy.

I wonder if Autobarn are not continuing and the HN dowry is required to keep the third car?

So... there are 3 pilots in the current main game field allegedly without a deal for next year, and a 4th who could be classed as transient..

Would 888 be interested in Mr Winterbottom, whose post-championship winning years at Prodrive/Tickford have been nothing less than horrible. May not be a coincidence that a deal for 2019 remains unsigned. Always talked up as a fan favourite, the question could be the ability to jump the brand fence and keep the support ticking along... there are said to be plenty of renders around of Bottle O Holdens too.. a nice connection to flogging more Red Bull....

Mr Courtney is apparently off deal, and is familiar with 888 equipment.. haven’t seen Mr Gow hanging around although that might change in coming weeks. It would continue the commentary love for 888 drivers however, although no serious commercial bagatelle appears to be following along..

Ms De Silvestro is an interesting choice. It seems to fit almost too easily. A big name sponsor attached, keeping the confidence up despite some very obvious car issues.. Mr Dane said the other day he had an internal target of 30% of their team being female, a female driver in one of 3 cars gets them there in the driving staff.. Promoted properly, the support out in spectator land could be immensely strong as well.

And the transient... Mr Davison.. it might be time to say he has always wanted to drive for 888... familiar with the equipment, and winning with it, could be an interesting choice, albeit commercially not bringing a brand along...

As for any others, the likes of Mr Campbell or Mr Bamber are likely not available, and Mr Brown is struggling in Super2, Mr Kostecki is as well...

An interesting choice to make soon... presuming 888 still run 3 cars next year

Simona to 888 would be the obvious fit for Holden, seems way too convenient for me.

Frosty has always been Ford-aligned; from day dot.

Tipping Lowndes out for either of the other two is commercially and otherwise absurd. Utterly.

Maybe I remember differently but I remember Frosty being pretty ordinary before the title too, and I don't view that title in the highest of esteem.

Personally I think Frosty isn't a team player and certainly has a temper, and I wouldn't choose him. Also he's a complete dud when presenting for a sponsor, worse than any in the sport.

He has been a Ford hero for a long time and with FPR since he left the wings of SBR. I can't see it happening.

Likewise Davo, poor attitude, similar to Frosty just as prone to tip a bucket on the rest of the team when things don't go his way.

At least with Davo we know that if he does suit up for 888 he'll tell us that he secretly desired racing for 888 since he was a little boy....

Of the four mentioned, SdS seems the most likely candidate.

Although I highly doubt Mr Lowndes is simply being dumped in favour of her. You'd be a total fool for thinking Mr Dane wouldn't have someone already in mind to replace him if/when he did decide to call time. I'd be totally surprised if a new driver was the catalyst. Money, or otherwise. I suspect more of how the decision played out, will be aired to the media in due course.

Mr Winterbottom is much like Tander. The team needs to be built around him. When his team mates are beating him, the toys are ejected from the pram, and there's an upturn in form at the expense of his team mates. I suspect Mr Courtney is much the of the same.

I can see Mr Davison back in the #230 again next year.

Frosty and Davison are out the question for reasons everyone understands why.

Which leaves SDS and; what, Courtney??
