Can't say I dislike it, but it might take some time getting used to.

I like the curviness of the new sidepods. Not a big fan of the large headlights, but I am sure it is a design driven by function. If that is the final livery, it is pretty bad.

That's not the final livery. It'll look something like the new 911's in GTE. You can already tell by the driver's racing suits. These pics don't have any red or gray on the car but the driving suits feature them.

It seems the matte black is "subtracted" from the paint scheme, so it's already present on an incomplete panel. The difference between noses is also a clue, as the extra black on the one should be covered by the same red/silver when they're finished. I assume it's something like the black is bare carbon, the white is painted on because it makes the majority of the colour, and the other details are vinyl.

You can see where the stripes will go too, because the nose and rear end are black.

These rearviewmirrors could make quite a difference.
Look at the Ford GT, this (mirrors) is aerodynamical nightmare. I think Toyota'17 has retained "normal" mirrors from what could be seen on their twitter. I also like this car better than previous versions. |

The more I look at new 919 the less I see any sense in Toyota bringing even ten TS050s to Le Mans. If that aero really works Toyota will have to put something out of pocket with their engine or any other clever bit to win at last. And if they lose again - only a Ginetta fleet will save LMP1.

I think Porsche are being very wary of Toyota, and so they should be. |

but unlike any other year, TS050 has changed drastically on the aero aspect for both front and rear. much lighter body should help with their balance as well. But I think Porsche might be hiding something for the le mans... FYI: New 2.4l engine is gonna be awesome! |

Engineering is not my forte (to put it mildly), but I remember reading that for purposes of inertia, the ideal size per cylinder is 500cc (thus we had the 2L V4, 3L V6's and 4L V8's). Going up to 2.4L means that we now have 600cc per cylinder. Can any one of you with far more knowledge of engineering than I , wade in on this and provide some insight? |

but I didnt know about ideal size per cylinder...(toyota was planning to use 2.1l V6 this year...which doesn't make sense according to your theory) |

No, it's a Photoshop job from a website associated with Endurance-Info. Final livery will be out tomorrow.
