Greatest weapons never to see the road

That is cars that didnt end up being produced

in my personal opinion it was the TVR Speed 12

I thought it was produced in limited numbers.
Didnt they need to produce a few for British GT homologation, and didnt a few pop stars order some ??

I also thought i saw one on the motorway before, but it was going in the opposite direction

maybe someone out there can shed some light on this....

There are at least 3 road versions of the speed 12, maybe more. If you have enough money you can still go and buy one from TVR. Happy saving!

Sorry I got confused. There was just 1 real Speed 12. The race car and there was a rolling chassis for the road car (the show car). The engine for it was nicked for the race car.

There are 3 Cerbera speed 12s in total. 2 race cars and 1 road car. The cerbera version is the car currently racing in the British GT championship. There is a posibility of a 2nd road going cerbera speed 12 but no-one can confirm this to me.

Thought there were a few Phase 4's around?

The Quad Rotor Corvette would have been a weapon had it seen production

Rotor, 4 Phase IVs were built. Three race cars and a road car, the road car was used as such and still is occasionally. One of the race cars became a rally car and led a very exciting life before it was eventually retired from competition. Ironically, it was then written off in a road accident with a bloody caravan! The other two race cars were never raced or streeted afaik and are now pristine museum pieces.

I have to say at the time as young kid who loved HDT products I was always waiting fo the HDT Monza to be built. It looked simalar to a 2 door VK Commodore with a V8 in it.

That V10 Yamaha OX99 with the two seats, one behind the other.
The 4-door Lancia Gamma Coupe that Pininfarina sold from its museum and that I was amazed to see double-parked in Palmer's Green, the world capital of bad driving.

A Corvaire with a flat eight engine in it. This was actually in testing and then Nader happened. Up to that time probably the best car ever built in the USA.

That Jaguar XK180 featured on top gear a while back looked pretty sweet. According to clarkson it goes some too.

Ford GT90. Mid nineties supercar, twin turbo beast that was stupidly fast and probably the worst handling supercar, according to Clarkson again!

The ultimate concept car of the late eighties/early nineties - Pininfarina's Ferrari Mythos. As a Peugeot fan, I vividly remember the road-going 905 prototype, also some drawings of 405 Coupe some 12 years ago. Too bad it never happened, as a 405 owner I would love to get my hands on one of those today!

G'day SLR5000 and welcome to the forum, excellent choice of nickname btw, but as an XU-1 owner, i can assure you two things they don't need is more power and more weight over the front axle.
