Chevy top 5, what a surprise

It'll be interresting to see what MacDowall can achieve this year. The kid is fast, but he seemed to have trouble having a steady pace in races, and keeping it out of trouble when the racing gets close. Maybe he'll be more in his element in WTCC, where qualifying has a bigger importance, and where the field is more spread out.

Alfa Fan has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Boardman's not bothering to turn up this weekend I read.

James Nash isn't in the Yokohama Trophy anymore, if we look at the timing screen.

I really hope it isn't another Chevrolet monopoly this year. Like most people, I'd like to see some decent inter-marque racing.

Alex Macdowall is really impressing so far. Good times set, highest indie driver with max ballast, on a new track, in a relatively new car. Impressive.

It will be though, the organisers don't restrict them like they do anyone else if they keep winning.

Monteiro and Barlesi have runned today with 2.0 TDI atleast is what i think after heard that their engine sound was completely different from all other seats.
i dont know why but i hope they will not use this in the weekend!

I'd guess the sunred cars are still using the sunred engine from last year rather than the seat sport engine, hence why they'd sound different.

Tarquini, O Young, Oriola and Dudukalo are all using new Seat 1.6 engine, all the others are using the old 2.0 seat diesel. No cars are using the Sunred engine from last year.

Here's the time sheet from today's tests. (In a PDF)

I've noticed that the USA Touring Car Champion Brandon Kraus has finally had his test with Proteam. Hopefully we might see a report of his test in a few days time.

There's something very uninspiring about that list. Dont know if it's the list of cars or the drivers but it just doesn't generate enthusiasm at all.

Fair enough. I'd just assumed the sunred cars were using their previous engines. Why have they gone back to the TDi?

Not sure to be honest its only a temporary thing though its just Seat sport havnt got them all ready yet. It may have somthing to do with when the cars were running the Sunred engine last season the cars were no longer called Seat's but Sunred's

I have split the discussion about Monza out of the WTCC 2012 thread into this new thread. Please post anything about this weekend in here.
