Decent series this now isn't it?

That LMP3 flat plane V8 sound could get a bit grating after a while though.
Pretty sure the p3 engine is cross plane.

[QUOTE=J Jay;3633334]No Wirdheim, no Lancaster. Wouldn't be surprised if there were major changes in the crew as well.

Where do you get that speculation from?

As he has done for most years recently, except 2015, Ricardo Divila engineered #41, the rest of the guys are much the same as they have been.

I would lay money that the team has less changes than most others in the ELMS pit lane.

Björn was in #40 and both Jon and Gary were in the pitbox cheering us on. Driver line ups have to change according to budget.

Thanks. Interesting to see the speed of the drivers in the 38. They are going to be a tough trio to beat this year if they can keep up that pace.

Thanks once again for these marvelous stats!
I was interested to find out that G-Drive/Jota's fastest lap, by Van der Garde, came on lap 118, the last lap of the race!

Were you at the track? I was watching the stream, and it was the only subject of conversation for not only the last ten minutes of the race, but also for most of the post-race coverage and RLM's post-race podcast.

It sounded like a mountain was being made out of a molehill with regards to VdG pushing so hard in his stint, but the central point from Jones/Goodwin was understandable - that there were a couple of moments when Giedo put the comfortably leading #38 in a more dangerous position than it needed to be in his quest to set the overall fastest lap. But the comparison they made to the argy-bargy at the end of last year's race did not hold for me. In that case Lancaster needed a stern talking to at the very least, whereas a quick word with Van der Garde would suffice.

Yeah I was at the race, though I'll be honest I haven't heard any of the post-race podcasts or anything. I'm not surprised it was a topic of conversation though, it was a bit unnecessary.
Having said that, VDG is a quality driver, easily capable of holding it together.
But yes, Dolan may want to have a quiet word

That TDS off was very unusual and the car certainly looked recoverable to my untrained eye. Gommendy stopping trackside without any visible damage was inexplicable as well.

The TDS was a throttle issue, stuck open, jammed or something of the sort.
The Eurasia car lost power because debris hit the marshal switch which is located on the base of the windshield of these cars, very unlucky!
