DMN Silverstone 31st May

So just over a week until the closing date and we still have spaces left for this meeting, although there aren't many left so if you haven't entered and you want to you need to get your entries in quick!

I'm looking forward to this round...if it is anything like Snetterton it is going to be fantastic!

How is everyones preparation going?

I hope so, propper tyres helped and a fiddle with the shocks. We will see at Silverstone if the car works there as well.
Anyone know where I can buy a set of wheel nuts for the Nova ?

My one is going lovely. Graham is correct, the escort has gone as we thought it was to good to race and the engine is currently resising in a 3 door cossie that just needs finishing off

There certainly are two, who have accepted and worked hard on those "spoiler issues".

It is a shame they seem to be staying away when things can be done about it, but we've still got a grid full of cars.

Sierra looks nice.

Shame it 'spoilt' for them, they should have got a removable one so they could run anywhere

yer i know rules are rules ect

does not bother me much as i have a few cars i can use anyway

hopefully it can be sorted at the end of the season,

the seat spoliers do come off , but we have found the cars very unstable and really needs something on there,

its up the guys running there own cars if they can get a smaller spoiler to work for the cars,

and then the exspence of changing the original seat ones.

I would not have believed that they did that much on the back of a front wheel drive car, interesting

when paul was at snetterton he did run without the spoiler and was over 2 sec a lap slower

and he said it felt unstable

with the spoiler he was in 119 sec without was 122 sec

i amagine with time and testing some of this you can get back with suspention ect

but the old saying if it aint broke why fix it

It ain't broke...but it ain't legal in class B...so needs fixing.

I repeat...it is down to the drivers to build/buy a car that complies with the regs or risk being reclassified.

I would assume the instability comes from the remaining front bumper/splitter upsetting the overall package. Especially if one has been engineered to compliment the other.
Sitting up here on the fence the cars do look a little odd without the spoilers.

no chance of moving them lower to comply with the regs? or make a under tray at the back to assist
