diz should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
MOOSE TROPHY 2008 - Sat 10th May

FREE RACE ENTRY - MOOSE TROPHY - Oulton Park - Sat 10th May 2008

All entrants in the Club Formula Ford races at Oulton Park on 10th May are automatically entered into the additional Moose Trophy Races being held on the same day.
Due to the generosity of Neil McArthur and Carphone Warehouse Networks powering TalkTalk, there will be no additional entry fee charged for this extra track time, which will consist of a 15 minute Qualification Session and either one or two races for each driver. The quicker qualifiers will progress straight into the 20 minute Moose Trophy Final. The slowest 32 qualifiers will contest a 15 minute Qualification Race with the Final grid being completed upto its 32 car maximum by the first finishers in the Qualification Race

n.b. Entry into the Moose Trophy is only open to drivers already racing in Round Six of the Carphone Warehouse Networks powering TalkTalk Club Formula Ford National Championship and is not available to drivers who either wish to share their car, or just do the "Free" races.

Well done Diz and Neil.

Good that it is at Oulton, good entries will give good grids for a worthy event. The 2005 Moose was for spectators was the best, and TV coverage was top notch.

Will it be televised this year?

Change of Details

Please note that having sorted this out yesterday and got a timetable sorted, the whole thing had to be changed today. The reason for change being that Formula Jedi was only listed as a single round and it should have been a double header.
The upshot is that we couldn't have four extra track slots for the Moose. So instead of two quallies, a quallie race and the Moose Trophy Final, it is now no extra qually, two Heats and a Final. So take the following as today's gospel.

####################################################

Please be aware that the information published yesterday 1st May has been amended today, 2nd May

*******FREE*****RACE***** ENTRY******

MOOSE TROPHY - Oulton Park - Sat 10th May 2008

All entrants in the Club Formula Ford races at Oulton Park on 10th May are automatically entered into the additional Moose Trophy Races being held on the same day. Due to the generosity of Neil McArthur and Carphone Warehouse Networks powering TalkTalk, there will be no additional entry fee charged for this extra track time, which will consist of two 15 minute Heat Races and the 20 minute Moose Trophy Final.

As there will be no separate qualifying, the composition of each heat and the grids for them will be selected solely at the organisers discretion and will be published on the morning of the meeting.

The Final grid - upto its 32 car maximum - will comprise the first 16 finishers in each heat. The faster heat - overall time - winner will take pole position, the winner of the other heat P2 etc., alternating.. The 17th finisher in the faster heat will be reserve 1, the 17th finisher in the slower heat will be reserve 2 etc.

n.b. Entry into the Moose Trophy is only open to drivers already racing in Round Six of the Carphone Warehouse Networks powering TalkTalk Club Formula Ford National Championship and is not available to drivers who either wish to share their car, or just do the Free races.

This means me and I will use championship positions, the mornings qualifying sessions, known performance and over forty years experience to try to get it right.
What we don't want is totally lop sided grids with the possibility of early lap carnage.

If you would like to pay £2k plus the dreaded, then maybe. As it stands no, just the Championship Races will be filmed.

The next NW FF action will be broadcast on Friday 16th May on Race and Rally UK at 9.00pm - plus repeat showings over the following few days.

or another way of deciding grid positions is that diz picks the grid using his method, and every driver/team that moan about where they have been put on the grid, drop down the order 5 places!.............. i can picture the last few places on the grid already lol

Another Moose Trophy classic! That final was one of the best races I've seen for a long time - & the Championship races were pretty good as well!
