This all sounds a bit dodgy to me? Random old tracks, mainly eastern European based, and the ones that are more mainstream aren't normally used top international class single seater racing?

More info about the calendar :
  • Portimao (POR) - 27th April 2014
  • Navarra (ESP) - 4th May 2014
  • TBA (GBR) - 8th June 2014
  • Anderstorp (SWE) - 22th June 2014
  • Slovakiaring (SVK) - 13th July 2014
  • Nürbugring (GER) - 27th July 2014
  • Paul Ricard (FRA) - 24th August 2014
  • Hungaroring (HUN) - 31st August 2014
  • Brno (CZE) - 9th September 2014
  • Grobnik (CRO) - 21st September 2014
Well, now we have a "TBA" instead of Rockingham

Oh and there are also some pictures in the official website, where we can see the re-livered MP Motorsport Lola B05/52, we can also see the car having Michelin tyres and logos, that might indicate that Michelin will be the tyre supplier of this series.

Correct me if I'm wrong but when you look at their website and click on Anderstorp, it appears to have taken on a striking resemblance to Sonoma.....

Certainly seems to have atracted a crowd-maybe for bike racing? Last held a serious car race in 1988 I think.Seems a strange package with cars & bikes on the same day? Can't see this working out.

If you click 'circuit' it's Anderstorp though.
I for one hope that this is true, would love to watch fast single seaters on a swedish circuit for the first time in my life time.

EDIT: Regarding running bikes and cars at the same event STCC did this for a number of years and I think it was appreciated.

Can we get back to talking about Auto GP rather than some series we're getting excited about now but will either not materialise or not encourage decent driving talent?

Yes we can.

It looks like the Auto GP series will be stronger next season with Comtec, Fortec and EuroInternational are interested in joining the series.

On the other side I doubt we will see Ibiza (Cipriani stepped down from racing after back problems I understand) and Zele Racing (they didn't enter the last two rounds, but want to be back at the season final)

So I think it will something like this
Super Nova
Euronova
Manor MP
Ghinzani
Virtuosi
MLR71
Comtec
Fortec
EuroInternational

So we can expect around 18 cars.

Puma 3 M-Sport is the first team announced for 2014 season. It's headed by Jaime Pintanel, ex-BCN Competición: http://www.italiaracing.net/notizia.asp?id=41641&cat=33

Hard to argue against Ghirelli now. The Super Nova car is so much quicker than the rest of the field.

Bit disappointed to see where the new champ ended up on the timesheets at the 3.5 test.

Maybe not a big surprise given his pre-AutoGP record. That said, he did OK in the last few GP2 rounds.
