grandprixdiary should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
This sounds like a fun job !?

Despite having a bit of a tough time in the libel courts recently, Business F1 Magazine which is a monthly magazine about...er...the business of F1, is currently advertising in the UK's 'The Guardian' (a riveting read in itself) for new staff:

"BUSINESS F1 MAGAZINE LTD.
Salary: £15-25,000 depending on experience.
Job description: You will have been educated to a good standard and hold high qualifications in Mathematics and English. Your knowledge of Formula One will be as described, extreme. By way of example (and without being able to do you should not apply), you will be able to instantly recall the ages of at least half of the current Formula One team principals. As a matter of course you will know their names and the names of at least half of the 20 race engineers. Furthermore, you will be able to recall, without reference to any information source, the christian names of the wives and girlfriends of all current Formula One drivers. On application you will be given a 30-question knowledge test of Formula One of which you will be able to score a minimum of 90 per cent correct answers."

Now, doesn't that sound like a barrel of laughs ?

It doesn't actually say what you'd be doing though.

Ooh now Frank is er, getting on, whilst Patrick is also getting on.

Sorry but why does anybody need to know the age of team principals to know about F1. Surely knowing the history then providing the context is much more important?

I suspect that, according to f1 magazine, F1 is mostly made of gossips, pitbabes, the nightlife of Kimi and bashing and that it may include, occasionaly (when everything else is quiet), some car racing.

I'm not convinced it's a real ad.

Probably some cutting satire by the original poster.

Should it be a real ad, one of us should apply for the 30 questions test and publish it here.

I am confident that there is, on aggregate, enough talent on this forum to pass that test easily.

This is an actual advertisement, I did a search on BusinessF1 earlier today and this is an exact, faithful copy of the job description and requirements.

I think, if I knew that sort of thing, I'd take my chances on Mastermind with F1 being my specialised subject.

Never let it be said that journalists do not go into depth in their enquiries and research into what really matters
