BMMC Midlands Region "Specialist" Training

Bill Butler has asked me to drum up trade for the "Specialist" training session at Donington in February. Anyone who does Paddock, Assembly, Startline, Pits, Race Telephones etc should do a training session every now and then - we never know it all! In fact anyone who doesn't normally perform these duties and wants to know more about what we do would be welcome as well.

I have a bit of paper here that came with the newsletter saying Sun 22nd February, sign on in the paddock at 08.30.

Time I got this in the post for something.

I DO read the newsletter - honest Jim I do!!

The problem here is Bill phoned me on Sunday and by the time I'd got to work on Monday morning I'd completely forgotten the correct date and time. Perhaps I should have written it down at the time?

Put it down to my age old boy!

Sorry but I can't do that as you are so much younger than I.

Specialists from the south may prefer to attend the BMMC National Training Day at Rockingham - also on Sunday 22nd February.

When such a diverse group of duties are lumped together it can be difficult to plan the training session.

Has anybody got any suggestions or requests?

What has or hasn't worked well in the past?

Race control and telephones folk may find it more useful to attend a session for Observers.

I have asked but I dont think she will be at the moment, mainly because the specialist training is more inclined to pits and startline and she like's the warmth of race control

"Specialist" training is aimed at anyone who has a grey or grey/black badge, which includes race control and telephones. Last year we even had a scrutineer in the session. If your mum would like to come along her "speciality" will be covered I'm sure.

You should send your availability form (included in the last Midlands Region Newsletter) to the address on the bottom. If you haven't got one contact Jim W who will be able to assist I'm sure.

Look forward to seeing you.

Most certainly does! In fact I'd be happy to see anyone who wants to know more about what we do at one of our sessions.

Can I expect to see you there?
